The president of Iraq says, "We were born in Iraq. We will die in Iraq." That's the best news I've heard all day.

Dear Servicemen and Servicewomen,

I shall not be long-winded in expressing my thanks and respect for your service.

Contrary to customary standards for quite some time, I have made it a point to thank each of you, while in uniform, for your service to Our Country for many years. Following 11 September 2001, I redoubled my efforts to thank each of you I saw and/or met.

I continue this personal directive with this email -- one I hope will reach at least hundreds of you as you prepare to be in harm's way. May your good efforts and good causes precede you, and keep you safe. Please know, at least from this single and humble writer, that your service to this Country, and to the good of humanity throughout the world is deeply appreciated by more than you can know.

I, for one, send my respect fully and completely. Godspeed to each and every one of you.

Most Sincerely,

Tom LaBarge

Hello,

I am writing to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your willingness to serve and protect our country. I am proud to be from a country that is willing to take on a megalomaniac like Hussein and stare him down in the midst of all the criticism.

I am very proud that Bush is our president and has the convictions to withstand the anti-war fervor and stand for what is right. As a mother of four small children, I feel vulnerable to world politics because I have four investments in the future. I truly believe that we will be giving our children/grandchildren a safer world without the likes of Hussein.

All it takes for evil to survive is for good men to do nothing! Thanks for your sacrifices.

Sincerely,

Hello, and good luck to you all! The time seems to be near, and I Know you are gearing up for action (even further).

Keep your eyes open, and know the three things they tell us you need to know...where you are, where your friends are, and what you're supposed to do.

God preserve you, and give you peace, strength, courage, and whatever else you need to succeed quickly and safely.

It is with great privilege, as a proud American, that I support the men and women in the United States Military who bravely and personally defend our freedom. I pray for their safety and a safe homecoming.

I realize the sacrifice that each military person must make and I am profoundly grateful and thankful for their dedication to this country and her president, George Bush. Godspeed and God Bless America.

Dear Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines,

Well, the time is upon us, and it looks like war is inevitable. I saw this email address and wanted to take the time to write you all "over there."

I am a city councilman in Sugar Hill, a town of about 13,000 people outside of Atlanta, GA. I also work for my family's company here in Atlanta, and I feel we go through our busy days and weeks, not fully realizing the sacrifices you make for our country. I served on a guided missile destroyer, USS Decatur, and I have a keen sense of what the separation from family and friends means to you all.

I have never been in a war though, I have never had to fight, and now you must all steady yourselves for the ultimate challenge. The hours of training, the boredom and monotony, the lack of sleep, the time away from home, all of it culminates here in the actions you are about to take, and you must be prepared. We are living in historical times, you are the first military force in American history to take preemptive action against an enemy.

Please rest assured in the knowledge that you are supported by your country. There are those that protest and preach anti-American views, but the majority of your countrymen, over 70%, support the mission you are about to undertake.

For the reluctant warriors, remember what Edmund Burke said, "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." Your President and Commander-in-Chief is not the type of man who will sit by and "do nothing." As in so many wars past, the United States has heard the call, and we will respond. You will be fighting and serving next to your friends, your second family; be strong for them, rely on each other, and know that they would give their life for you. Know that your actions and how you perform your
duties have a profound effect on the outcome of this mission.

From the front-line soldier or Marine who has to keep his weapons clean and charge forward, to the aircraft mechanic who has to make sure his aircraft are ready to go and the pilot who flies them, to the sailor who prepares his ship or submarine for Tomahawk launch, to the cooks who make sure the troops fight on a full stomach, you all have your duties. As you go through your daily routine, take pride in what you do, as hard as that may seem sometimes during peace time, you are now entering a time of war. You are all playing for keeps.

I found it hard to sleep last night, after the President spoke, because I was thinking of so many things. Here in our country, President Bush, his Cabinet, and elected officials in Congress were readying the nation for war, making the toughest decisions of their lives, then my thoughts turned to all of you overseas. I realized that somewhere in the Persian Gulf a sailor was lying awake on a ship in his rack just like me pondering the future, a Marine was standing watch in a sandbagged bunker on the Kuwaiti border, an Army M1 tank Captain was briefing his crew, an airman was working on loading a laser guided bomb, all of you were thinking about the impending war, thinking about your families, and here I was lying in my comfortable bed in my safe house.

Well, ladies and gentleman, I woke up this morning wanting to just say "Thank you!" You don't hear it enough. I know after September 11th, the one good thing that came out of that horrible event, was that people began to appreciate our Armed Forces and those who serve; it was something that has been a long time in coming. I always said people should feel honored to serve, that serving in the military should be a privilege not to be taken lightly.

So, in conclusion, feel privileged to have the opportunity to serve your country and to make us proud. You are the best America has, you represent all of the facets of American life, and you are my countrymen. I will pray for you everyday and every night, my friends. To my buddies over there or on their way and for those of you whom I will never meet, God bless you and keep you safe. Keep your powder dry, and when you come home, you'll be greeted as heroes.

Sincerely and Respectfully Yours,

Tom Rhodes

Hey Guys,

Our family wants all of you to know that you are our heroes!! We love you for putting your lives on the line to defend the safety, security, and freedoms of the greatest country God ever created.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for what you are about to do. God Bless You All, God Bless Pres. Bush and God Bless the USA.

Thank you all from the deepest part of my soul. Without you, none of this would be possible and we would be the ones needing some great nation to liberate us. Thank you for serving, for being the best, for being brave, dedicated and devoted and most of all, thank you for being great Americans!

May God bless you and keep you all safe.

To the Soldiers in the Field,

People are writing you that they and the country are behind you. Believe them! Do not believe all the stuff on CNN and the networks. When all they will show is a thousand or so "peace" protesters, remember that there are about 270 million who are for you but will never be seen on television. And almost all those protesters just hate Bush.

Please understand that the propaganda is aimed at making us and you look bad. Ignore it. And keep in mind that beside you is the spirit of everyone who loves you. And God is there too, always a good help when things seem crazy.

I lived in West Texas for awhile when I was a kid, so I understand about sand and sandstorms. I assure you that if you can't see through that horrible grit, your enemy can't either. Just stand by.

My grandson is a Navy officer who will soon go aboard a ship then likely be sent out to help you guys in ways that he says are classified. That means that I am a bit old to come help you, but if it comes to that, either there or back here at home, a lot of us old guys will be where we are needed. I served in the Navy in the Korean Mess, so I can do more than a parade rest and right shoulder arms.

You are not alone. Unlike some elite movie stars, we understand that the United States is at war. Even as a kid growing up during World War II, I at least understood what that really meant, unlike the "useful idiots" protesting now. I even knew what a gold star in the window of a house meant.

We had parades and welcomed our troops home when that war was over. We will have another parade and warm welcomes when you return too. Fight proudly, because you represent all of us. And God Bless.

Dear Folks:

My husband served in the US Navy for over 23 years. He served during the Viet Nam War and in Operation Desert Storm. We share your feelings of patriotism and sadness at leaving loved ones behind to serve your country.

Thank you for your courage and honor. Our flags will be raised in your honor each day and prayers will be said daily until each of you return. We are proud of you and appreciate you protecting us and America!

Dear Brave Troops,

I want you to know that our prayers are not only with you, but your loved ones. I have a particular Air Forceman that I am praying for through the Presidential Prayer team, but I also pray for all of you to be safe and return as soon as possible to your families and loved ones. Thank you for your sacrifices. God be with you.

Sincerely,

Barbara Seling

Hey Guys and Gals,

Thank you for your patriotism. I just thank God for people like you that will make the sacrifice you are making to protect our FREEDOM AND COUNTRY.

I personally think they should deny the Dixie Chicks their re-entry to the United States. Let them stay over there in Europe so they won't have to say they are from Texas and while they are doing that, ship Jane Fonda over there to keep them company. I will never again support that group.

Again Troops, thank you for what you are doing for your country. I didn't serve any active duty but I did serve 8 years in the USMCR 1st AMTAC Battalion in Tampa Florida.

Thank you and Godspeed!

Let Us Give Thanks

As war looms, I am thankful for many things. I am thankful for a president who suffers slings and arrows for steadfastly opposing evil, while other, more sophisticated statesmen continue to appease one of the cruelest monsters of our time.

I am thankful for a man who understands, unlike his predecessor, that leadership is lonely and that the only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.

I am thankful for the U.S. military, not for the United Nations or any other international organization, for it is the men and women of America's armed forces who will be the guardians of civilization as we have known it.

I am thankful for their bravery, skills and sacrifice, which betray greater courage and character than all of the screams and sloganeering from Hollywood's stars and protesters, who understand little, and risk even less in demonstrating against them.

- Columnist and former Reagan speechwriter Bently Elliott
------------------------

I'm sure your mission is clear. We are all praying for you, for your safety and your successful deliverence of the Iraqi people to freedom.

We also pray that this can be accomplished with as little devastation as possible. Ephesians 6:12 says "For we do not wrestle against flesh and bone, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places."

Your cause is just and your country appreciates what you are doing. In doing this you are following in the footsteps of the many brave Americans who have fought to make and keep our country free and safe.

May God walk beside you, bless you and bring you safely home.

Dear Troops, My Heroes,

I have been a firefighter for 28yrs. I have seen many things, but I don't think I have ever been so ashamed of a few ignorant people.

People who call themselves Americans and demonstrate stupidity that borders on treason. I want you to know that I refuse to talk to any person who does not support you and what you are doing. It touches my heart to know that you are defending my home, my country, my family, my way of life, from the threats to our nation as we witnessed so recently in New York.

How soon people forget! They forget --- we don't have a draft anymore. You heroes volunteered to protect their way of life. A way of living that was shattered on 9/11 and affected so many thousands of familes.

I support our President/Commander-in Chief's decision to try to make sure that we are safe from the madmen of the world. I also support and pray for you. I pray for your safe return. I know you are there to "protect and serve."

I know, as few people do, what that pledge means. Believe me when I say, I know you are there to keep my family safe and I pledge to do everything within my power to keep your familes safe here while you are protecting our country.

Thank You So Very Much!!!!

We will collect letters to send out special editions called "Troop Letters" that contains all of this correspondence for our national subscribers to read, but primarily to send word to the international community that America doesn't exist how CNN and ABC and the Hollywood Socialists paint us. We are a strong and proud nation and we have no problem expressing love for our country, and strong support of our troops and our president, George W. Bush.
