Special Election Update A recount on Tuesday confirmed that Creekview High School teacher Meagan Biello is the runoff for the special election to fill the State House District 22 seat formerly held by the late Rep. Calvin Hill. The runoff election will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 4; the precincts include two CCSD schools: Hickory Flat ES and Macedonia ES. School Board Elections Four Cherokee County School Board members will be up for re-election in primary elections in May: Michael Geist, Rick Steiner, Rob Usher and Robert Wofford. Mr. Geist today announced that he would not be seeking re-election; John Harmon of Hickory Flat recently announced he plans to seek Mr. Geist’s seat. Car Giveaway Deadline is Today The deadline to enter Bill Holt Chevrolet’s giveaway of a new 2013 Chevy Malibu LS to a CCSD employee is 6 p.m. today (Wednesday, Jan. 15). As of today, there are only about 800 entries. This giveaway drawing is limited to CCSD employees with CCSD ID badges; to enter, visit the dealership at 250 Liberty Blvd. off Riverstone Parkway in Canton (30114) and complete an entry form. There is no cost to enter the drawing. The prize does not include tax, title, tag and document fees; the winner shall grant permission for his or her likeness to be used in advertising for one year from the date of drawing.
