Ralph Reed To Casey Cagle: I’m Gonna Get You, Sucka!
by politicalvine
Rumors have it that the Ralph Reed Campaign for Lt. Governor is laying the groundwork for an all out offensive against Casey Cagle, his primary opponent.
According to an AP story, Reed stated “his campaign will soon turn to defining the differences between him and Cagle.”
There are also rumors that the Reed campaign has been conducting phone polls to try to unearth what possible negatives about Cagle his campaign’s research team can come-up with that would turn more people against Cagle.
At the PV, we’ve unearthed some of the questions likely asked by the phone pollsters from the Reed campaign. Questions like:
“As a voter concerned about public officials having a conflict of interest…
“1) If you found out that Senator Casey Cagle, who sits on the committee that regulates banking in the state of Georgia, actually possessed two entirely separate bank accounts, would you be more inclined, less inclined, or indifferent to the prospect of voting for Casey Cagle?”
“2) If you found out that Senator Casey Cagle, who claims to be a conservative Republican, ate dinner at a restaurant in Midtown Atlanta, a place known to be a haven for homosexuals and other people of diversity, would you be more inclined, less inclined, or indifferent to the prospect of voting for Casey Cagle?”
PV’s Analysis: Well, you get the point…the Reed campaign is going to have to REACH to a) find something on Cagle, and b) since they really won’t be able to find anything negative about Casey Cagle, they will make something up.
Anything, you see, to divert attention away from Ralph’s obvious disease of pathologically lying about his involvement in scamming Christians into fighting for causes in which he was being paid beaucoup bucks to manipulate those Christians into doing his bidding.

Perhaps Casey needs to make sure he doesn’t adopt any darker skinned children. Or maybe he needs to take a trip to AZ and have a talk with John McCain on how to deal with the dirtiest player in the game.

Gooood point, Craig. I’ll bet Ralph and Tim DO attack Casey on someting to do with his family.

I am voting for Cagle because I am fed up with the big money lobbyist groups. I hope that Cagle cleans Reed’s clock!
January 25th, 2006 at 12:27 am
hahaha, Everyone is trying to pin Casey with being negative. Wait until Ralph breaks out his negative campaign. Cagle will have more people switching than Ralph could ever hope to con.

Present company excepted, I have zero faith in the Republican primary’s electorate to make an informed decision. Of course Reed will make something up against Cagle, and he will probably make it stick. Leave the clock-cleaning to the Democrats this year! lol

There are times in one’s life when you put your personal “To-Do” list aside, and
TAKE a STAND for for is right…
Those of us who like to think of ourselves as Christians need to, as Paul wrote to the Ephesians:
“Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to STAND against the wiles of…”
Ch. 6, verse 11
==================
it is time for ALL of us who have been so quiet for 20+ years to… STAND UP
Casey Cagle WILL BE the next Lt Gov of the great State of Georgia
Casey Cagle WILL get 60, if not 65 percent of Forsyth County Republican votes
What about it Cobb?
How much are you prepared to do Gwinnett? Cherokee? Paulding? Dawson?
How much are we prepared to do for the future of our state?
Tell Ralph and his folks to “bring it” as best they can…
My wife, myself, my neighbors on both sides of the street are prepared to “go to the mattresses.” (see the movie Godfather)
I am taking a STAND in 2006. it is time for “quiet Christians” to STAND.

Cagle has stronger support than what appears on the surface. Reed’s ties to Abramoff go back to their CRNC days. Cagle is currently holding his own but he is fighting an uphill battle. Reed has the name recognition.

Maybe some of Ralph’s people will have him develop an inflamatory, racially devisive flyer and have it delivered, anonymously of course, to apartments throughout the state!
January 25th, 2006 at 10:07 am
I’m not surprised at Reed’s tactics — this is coming from a guy who (in refering to defeating Clint Day) was heard saying “we crucified the christian conservative.”
January 25th, 2006 at 11:43 am
Not surprised that Ralphie starts out dirty! I’m voting for Cagle in the Primary, and hope he can come across as the decent politician he is and has always been.
January 27th, 2006 at 4:02 pm
Wow! The entire Cagle voting block on one blog. Exciting!

Mr. Plummer,
I saw where you responded to a comment a left on here a few days ago now. i’m sorry I do not check it very often so I didn’t get your response until tonight. I saw that you asked for my precinct and a bunch of other jibber jabber. I’m Michael “Blake” Tillery. I am a senior this year at the University of Georgia. Yes, in fact I did take a little bit of time off to come over to Mt. Paran a few weeks ago. I didn’t see you either. Go figure! As for the little “war” with how many votes your precinct is going to get, I’m honestly laughing right now. I didn’t realize how seriously you feel about the matter. I guess I’ll have to take your deal though….shucks…to think of all the hours studying I’m going to have to miss in order to win this bet….oh haha…and the funniest thing is the “(as a percentage of registered votes)” disclaimer you put in your post!!! Like someone really cares! oh…hang on…i think you wanted some more information. my email address….should I really be handing this out on the internet?!?!? btillery@uga.edu. Hope you find much laughter in the fact that you’re really a hit tonight across the dorms at the university. They didn’t realize grown men could be so funny!

Say, Michael, did you join the Reed campaign for Lt. Governor because he gave you all the free beer you could drink at the first home game last fall?
February 16th, 2006 at 7:39 pm
Man, I’ve got to start checking back here more often! I’m missing all the quick comebacks. Actually no, I was attracted by the fact that he has a PLATFORM. Not a big drinker. Sorry.
February 16th, 2006 at 8:01 pm
Yes, Michael…those of us who attended other colleges in this state have learned how to debate a little faster than the sleepy little college up in Athens.
By the way, you can “subscribe” to the comments on a thread by putting your e-mail address in a box that is located below the box you use to enter a comment. That way, you’ll be apprised of the “comebacks” faster and not be so far behind.
February 17th, 2006 at 4:07 pm
That was dirty and you will regret it.
February 17th, 2006 at 4:47 pm
okay, sorry about that. I’m in class and was forced to end my post abruptly. But attacking UGA?!?! The state’s flagship institution!?!? I don’t think I’d being doing that if I was trying to win a majority of the state’s citizens over to my political ideas….
About your post, it is not that the University is producing lack-luster debators, it is simply that we have other things to do and cannot sit waiting for replies to our post for hours. Time simply won’t allow it. I am glad, Mr. Simon, though, that you do have the time to do so. I am just glad that class was a little laid back today and that I had time to respond!
Have a great weekend! (By the way, I won’t be responding over the weekend either. I have other important things to do then as well. And no, Mr. Simon, it doesn’t involve alcohol. I have two big tests to study for and tons of voters to talk to if I’m going to win those previous bets! But don’t worry, if I need you, I know I can log right in, make a post, and get a speedy reply!)
February 17th, 2006 at 5:18 pm
i wouldn’t typically be a But-in-sky… but wanted to make sure that Blake/Michael did not expect the typical speedy reply from Mr. Simon.
i believe that Mr. Simon is attending to some personal business, and likely will not be able to dally with the Young Gentleman from UGA in the immediate future.
We all wish Blake/Michael the very best of luck with those two big tests. Tests in college can be SOOoooo stressful….
Don’t worry, though. Things get much easier out here in the real world. You won’t ever have to work as hard out here in the real world as you will work this weekend when you study for those two big tests.
i would invite you to the HUGE meet & greet for Casey Cagle to be held this evening at the home of one of the Exec. Comm leaders of the Forsyth County GOP, but you have already indicated that you will busy studying - and would thus likely be unable to attend.
one semi-serious question, though… “Why do they call it a ‘flagship institution,’ if it is not even anywhere near the ocean?”
Ah nevah quite unnerstood tha-ut.
-Jus’ kiddin’!!
we love EVERYBODY ! even folks that support Ralph!

“Attacking UGA?” Oh, dear, oh dear…may I be struck down by the Underwater Basket-Weaving Team and, in case they are busy, the team of scientists from the UGA School of Compost Creation and Maintenance.
February 18th, 2006 at 12:52 pm
Mr. Simon:
you’re gonna push us folks who carry certificates of attendance from the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King School of Non-Violent posting on web logs over to Blake/Michael’s side on this one.
it just is not sweet or nice to make fun of that fine institution of har larnin’ over thar in Clarke County.
it jes’ ain’t raht.
Now, y’all fellers start bein’ nice t’ one ‘nuther, ya hear?

I like how Ralph Reed’s campaign site mentions he “grew up in Toccoa, Georgia”. Ralph was born 24 June 1961 in Portsmouth, Virginia and moved to Toccoa, Georgia, in 1976. So Ralph grew up after he was 15 years old? In 1981, Reed moved to Washington, D.C., so Ralph lived in Georgia for 5 years.
