Hey Bill, thanks for the email asking for my opinion. I think that the news media and others pointing out photos that could or could not be doctored is just sugar coating to help the medicine go down. The fact is that Israel bombed and destroyed Lebanon, and the damage to the Country is the billions of dollar, but the real cost is human loss on both sides.
The majority of the 900 killed in Lebanon are innocent citizens, 1/3 of whom were children. We have satellite imagery in our military that count the number of chin hairs on a Hezbollah fighter, and we knew that they had built up their forces in the last six years.
I have read on a blog out of Beirut that water is more precious to Israel that oil, and the goal is to seek control of the Lituna River in Lebanon. You know wars are planned for sometimes years, and this war did not start because of soldiers being kidnapped or captured depending up what side you want to believe.
The bottom line is the I don’t care how much people cry fowl over photographs because we all know that a picture is worth a thousand words. We need to start valuing human life in this country and practice what we preach!

We are thankful for your comments and letting us see the “softer” side of war. Lets not forget the Hezbo’s really do not have one uniform so is it possible some of the younger adults killed were Hezbo’s. The next point if we are suppose to value human life why did the Hezbo’s go into towns near schools and hospitals and set up shop. That shows me no respect for human life. The next point is people keep saying we should respect human life did we drop bombs or kidnap soldiers last time I checked no. Next point yes wars are drawn up before being executed wait I said a bad word executed. If there was no plans or places of “interest” then what you call the “bad guys” Israel would have been blamed for going in and shooting the whole damn town up and breaking things. Just like other conflicts people see the cities and buildings knockdown but do you not see the pinpoint of each explosion and the will of the Israelis not to go in and not bomb the whole dang country. So to answer your point yes Israel showed value for human life. The sad thing now we have to hear how the hezbo’s won the conflict since all they did was fire rockets which did hardly any damage. I say the next time this breaks out the true might of the Israelis Army and Air Force will be shown and once more they will show respect for your value of Human life.

1) Interesting word choice since “cabal” is of Hebrew origins
2) I agree it is pretty disgusting. The Twain quote in the video is quite apt.
3) About 40 years ago Ray Bradbury (if memory serves) published a story about what happens when you cannot trust pictures, recordings, and other images, and thus have no authoritative source of truth. Orwell, in “1984″, explored the same based in part upon Stalin’s practice of literary erasing newly named enemies of the state from official photographs and historical records. We take little comfort in the fact that these are not government issued photos — Totalitarianism is not much closer. The vigilance of an educated citizenry is essential none the less.
4) Even heavily under the influence of “creativity enhancers”, Edgar Alan Poe was astute enough to quip “Believe nothing you hear, and only one half that you see”. Search for the truth. Question authority. Think!

I find the lies to be abhoring. I can’t believe that anyone would not behind Israel as our Country always has been and the Bible says we are to bless His People. That is Israel. We are not to curse or we will be cursed. This is so sad as the Israelis have taken enough and as Christians we are grafted to the Vine of God with Israel. They are not believers yet.

Please read the New Testament, and carefully read what Jesus says in the Gospels. Read how all of the things that Jesus says about the destruction of the temples will come to pass in this generation, which would have been 70 AD. The Romans did not leave one stone unturned in Israel, and you cannot substitute for the new Israel which will ascend from Heaven when Christ returns. Read Revelations in full, and you will see that the new temple will be the Lamb of God, not a physical temple but a spiritual temple. Politicians put Israel back on the globe in 1948 and displaced authentic tribes of Israel, which were the Palestinian Christians and Muslims that are part of the twelve tribes. You need to really study the scriptures. We are leading people to death and destruction, not for spiritual reasons but out of greed for control of oil in the Middle East!

And Kevin, how do you think our patriots fought the American Revolution? Why they were the general population, that was who the fighters were. They loaded their muskets that they typically used to hunt for food to join the cause for freedom. They hid in barns, in houses, in feed stores and ambushed the British when they came into their homesteads. Gee, you people justify the killing of innocents at all costs. What did this war solve? I’ll tell you what I think it solved. It told Israel that yes there are more David’s out there that can face Goliath with all of their might. And maybe, just maybe Israel will learn to peacefully get along with their neighbors.

You pointed to the downfall of your points by saying the Hezbo’s hung out in the areas where normal people live. That’s how people die and it was a war and the Hezbo’s used the people as shields. How do you know 900 people were killed maybe it was 120 anyone can pick a number. Maybe the Hezbos had casual day and were killed the same day. The point is you can side with anti-war crowd and I respect your opinion and when my finance joins the Navy she will have to fight to defend your free speech. Linda, Linda, Linda, I fail to know your church nor you as a pastor/teacher but you are so wrong. The Bible is one Book but two testaments or covenants. You need, precious one, to read and read with an open heart to God to show you His plan and not you show Him your plan. I stand by Israel and no Goliath nor Iran can iradicate them off of the map. They didn’t put them here. So, while you are preaching to the teacher, go study your lack of facts. Israel has done all within their power to get along with their neighbors even giving up the Gaza Strip which is Biblically theirs. Now, don’t write me back. Yeah, what do you think about that a dyed in the wool conservative that voted for President Bush two times, the mother of a Marine and a descendent of 300 years of patriots in my family. We came here in the 1700s from Pfifferstadt, Germany. I bet you hate Germans, too! Even though Germans are responisble for all of the bridges designed in New York and throughout the United States. Yeah, this fiscally conservative Republican is not part of the anti-war crowd along with about 65% of the people in the United States if not more. Does that mean that we are bleeding heart liberals? No, the term is paleoconservative. Look it up and learn something before criticizing. I am tired of our country being stretched throughout the world, when we need to take care of America first.

Jim, you are close to having the truth. You see we are now in the totalitarian state of Democracy in the United States, but most cannot see with their own eyes. The thing is that if it were not for blogs from Lebanon, you would not have seen any of the horrid deaths. The media could not hide it. Mass media directs the people for who you shall vote for, and what you shall believe. If a candidate wants to run for office, they darn sure better be a puppet for the media first! The death toll in Lebanon is high, and the death toll likewise is too high in Israel. It was a stupid and derelict war and Olmert should go to prison for his terrible leadership.

I read the Bible regularly. As a matter of fact, I spent two hours reading it just last evening. I also have a couple of religious blogs if you care to check them out. They have mainly been created to combat the atheists trolling on the Internet for children and teenagers. I hope that these youths will find my blogs and read what Jesus died for and how there is salvation for them. I am not a formal preacher, but I know the King James Version of the Holy Bible pretty well. I know that the Bible does not grant the authority to replace Jews in Israel to the Gentiles, and find the scriptures that contradicts that fact, please.
But to the point, I do believe way too many innocent people died in the past month, and it could have been avoided.

Sorry to burst your bubble, Linda, but
1) Iran and its proxy Hezbollah started this fight to test Israeli and western resolve, to extend Iranian power in the region, and to distract the world from its effort to curtail Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
2) Hezbollah hides among and launches its missiles from behind civilians for the very purpose of using their deaths for propaganda purposes (as Bill’s intitial links show - or you can google “green helmet guy” to learn more), to stir anger in the Muslim world and manipulate voters like you.
3) There is NO oil to speak of in Lebanon, Israel, the Palestinian territories or even Syria. To suggest that our support of Israel has anything to do with oil is just ludicrous. If it was truly all about oil, we would have abandoned Israel and buddied up to the Islamo-fascists long ago. And left Saddam alone to boot.

Did you not know that Israel had plans to invade Lebanon over six months ago? Do a google, the strategy paper is on the Internet. Just like the 1996 paper: “A Clean Break, Securing the Realm.” that is the blue print for invading Iraq first, then Iran and Syria. Don’t you know that there is not such thing as a surprise war, they are all planned?
And this particular battle started over two months ago, when 13 Palestinians were killed on the beach by a bomb from Israel. Come on child, do you believe everything the media tells you. And the Israeli soldiers went onto Lebanize soil and they were captured, as they were not kidnapped. You see the difference today is that we do not have to rely upon a biased media to get the TRUTH! Read more than a few lines in the newspaper before you debate someone that has studied the facts. But I know it is easier to believe the distorted truth from the neocons, right?

Hezbollah will integrate into the Lebanies military, and then we will have to give huge loans to help rebuild Lebanon. France will have to write off millions of dollars of debt that Lebanon already owes them, and it will take thirty years to rebuild the Country. This is an autrocity, and the war could have been avoided. And yes, I do believe many children and women and old men have been killed because the Red Cross would not lie about this nor would the UN workers. I would not doubt it if a plant in the media would be the one to put out propaganda photographs to say, see it all lies and no one really died. Just like the media that says no one was raped and murdered in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Even though, we all read and saw horrific events. But it all gets erased in Orwellian “Newspeak.”

George Bush has been hijacked by a neocon agenda. I remember when Bush was running for President the first time that he specifically said that are troops were spread across the globe too much, and that he was not interested in global reach. Do you remember those early interviews when Bush was running for office, Bob. I agree with the President of Iran, as I believe that the inhabitants of Israel should be moved to Europe or the United States. That is the only way there will ever be peace in the Middle East. But it will never happen because Israel is a step-child of the United States. Israel is not a democracy at all, as it is a socialist state that could not survive without the over $3 billion dollars in aid that the United States gives every year. Check out the GDP of Israel, and how socialism is choking the country.
I sure do not think the answer is to drop a bomb on Iran or Syria or on what is left of the tiny Country of Lebanon of a little over 3 million Citizens before the war. I am sure that number is down by at least a 1/3, since the rest of the populations has been displaced into Syria. We need peace in the world, and surely you can agree with that.

Your conspiracy theories have grown tiresome. Truth be told, the Arab-Jewish conflict goes back to Isaac and Ishmael, however, Hezbollah started this conflict and they are acting as proxy for Iran and Syria. My Bible tells me to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and that a friend of Isreal is a friend of God(and no Israel is not Palestinian Christians and the US is not the lost tribe or whatever theory is floating around out there). Furthermore, Israel is our only reliable ally in the region and I want our government to support them - especially as they attempt to destroy a terrorist organization.
As to the point of Bill’s post, the media in the U.S. and most of Europe have allowed themselves to serve as propaganda arms of the terrorists by distributing phony and staged photographs. If you don’t think that’s a big problem then I don’t know what to tell you.

Well the current Pope is a Jew, btw. Anyway read who the twelve tribes of the Jews are, and you will find that we all are. Christians, Muslims, Jews and Jehovah’s Witnesses. Muslims do believe in Jesus Christ if you would read the Quaran that discusses what Mohammed says about Jesus Christ being the son of God, born to the Virgin Mary and resurrected from the tomb. And Buzz, those papers that I gave you to read are not conspiracy theories. They are real policy papers. I never thought that my research would lead to such things that I never new existed. I know that you are of the same church that I once belonged to, which was the talking points from Bill Krystol, Frum, krautheimer and Runsfield and people that spread what is to be believed. But after 6 solid years of reading volumes of policy papers and history, I am living my own life and have once again learned to think for myself. I know you can’t relate to that Buzz becuase you are no where near my level of understanding and have not scratched the surface of studying the facts.

I have framed picture of President Bush in my office, including the photo of where he was calling foreign countries on 911 from Air Force One. I have the White House Christmas card framed in a frame that I paid two hundred dollars for. I am proud of President Bush, but I do believe that Iraq was a planned war long before 911, proof the 1996 strategy paper for one. I do not know what to believe about 911, but there are some things that lead me to believe that people in our own Country knew that it was going to happen. So Buzz, you can tire of me if you want to. But I think you are really scared because you do not want to leave your comfort zone and believe that things just may not be the way you think they are. You may be like me and once believe in Santa, the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny. If you are a God fearing person, whatever religion you are, you must know that in order for good to exist that evil must coexist, otherwise why would we need to know about what good is?

No, Bob actually I read a good deal of my facts on Jewwatch.com. And I look up their sources, too. I am not a zombie or whatever you want to call it. Look up some war speeches given by the war pilot Lynberg, and you will see how any those against World War II were silence and ridiculed. You see, we now have two sides of the news being reported today. I am not into Islamic Fascists either. They have been created like the boogey man to scare the hell out of our Citizens to keep us in a constant state of fear. You know Roosevelt said that “the only thing that we should fear is fear itself.” Oh don’t get me wrong, as I know there are bad people that want to now kill the Christian Infadels and the Jews, but just who created that hatred I ask you?

If you mean Charles Lindbergh, he worked very hard to keep the US out of WWII, even suggesting we sign a neutrality pact with Nazi Germany. He also blamed war agitation on Roosevelt, the British and Jews in government and in control of the media. Sound familiar?
There was nothing noble or correct about Lindbergh’s efforts, though the arguments he and his America First brethren made do seem to have been studied by today’s appeasement-inclined, anti-Israel, “the Islamists would leave us alone if we just stop antagonizing them” leftists and their allies on the far right like Pat Buchanan and Paul Craig Roberts.

You might want to find a new source for your “facts”, Linda. Try, for example, a cool online encyclopedia called Wikipedia where you can find informative articles on everything from political and religious history to, oh, Nazis like Frank Weltner and his “Jew Watch” website. Here’s an excerpt:

Well, who do you think writes Wikipedia? Anyone that wants to define anyone. If you could find out who wrote the definition of Jewwatch, you would find out that no doubt it was the ADL or the ACLU. Funny, how two sides must debate the issues, is it not. But you know there is a fact that you cannot debate me on, which is to know who is control, only ask who is it that you may not criticize. That is a quote I read on another blog, I believe it was National Vanguard. Yeah, you see the rest of us have other alternative ways to read about world events, instead of relying on those that own the main stream media.
And I did not start this controvery, as it began 2006 years ago with the crucification and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

And right now, I have read that there are about 5,000 activist Jews trolling various blogs looking for those that have sided with Lebanon to debate those on the blogs. I am not into doing that, as a matter of fact Bill Simon left a comment on my blog last year. I have not been on this blog for a couple of months, until I got an email today from him. It was an email from Political Vine, so I assume it came from Bill.
I think Bill likes my debates or he would not have emailed me. He knows that I don’t always go along with his agenda, but he also knows that I would never harm a hair on his head or speak and evil thing about him. That is not what I am about. I want the truth, and I am going to search for it. I am not going to settle for left propaganda and nor will I settle for right propaganda. What say you Bob, are you just into the church of what is happening now because you have limited time to learn anything else?

The main problem that we face with our divided house in the United States is that this division keeps us from making decisions that are in America’s best interest. It is more improtant to regain seats in government than it is to admit that the war in Iraq was a blunder that has cost lives and trillions. It is more important to say that Israel is justified in bombing Lebanon than it is to admit that perhaps it was a mistake. Heck, I know people that won’t even admit that they made a mistake on their tax return or any trivial thing in life. People will lie, cheat and steal to get ahead in life, and once one lie is told you have to continually tell another lie to cover it up. Now, I ask the Republicans on this blog to do some real soul searching, and you tell me if Al Gore had won election in 2000 and again in 2004, and we were bogged down in a Civil War in Iraq if you think the Republicans would be beating on the tables and demanding that we stay the course. If you answer sure we would, then you are a LIAR!

One last post Bill before I retire to bed: I am first a Christian, second a wife and mother and lastly I am an American that loves my Country and I have learned that politics are something that divides people that are good on both sides. I am not sure if you are being sarcastic, but I feel that when you are talking with people online there are stereotypes that form. I am detailed and passionate about my studies. And, I wish I could turn back the clock about six years and go back to being blind to the world around me, at times. The most important thing is that yes, it is the soldier that has his/her coffin draped by the flag, it is the soldier that salutes the flag and it is the soldier that dies to defend our freedom of speech, not the President nor any politician. I got an email from someone just yesterday, that there are only two that were willing to die for us: the GI and Jesus Christ. I read all that I can read from all sides, and do not believe everything that I read. All sides have view points, and that is what is wrong with the United States is those that have other view points that are not main stream are held out to be bad people. If you noticed Bill, I said that gentiles and Jews were responsible for displacing inhabitants of Israel with European Jews 1948 years after Christ’s time! This is like telling everyone in Texas, California, Arizona and New Mexico that is not a Mexican because we are going to restore those lands to the Mexicans. It would be like telling the residents of Indiana to move out unless they can trace their heritage back to an Indian tribe. I am not an ignorant person, and I do not blame all of the problems on the J-E-W-S, as you seem to think. The publishers of the site have their website mirrored in several locations out of the country.
Is this what America was founded on, that one minority group of people should have control over everyone to the point of shutting down free speech if that is what it takes. Ok, if a group of students that attend school and belong to a Baptist Church group and go into a school and open fire and kill a good number of students, would you expect to have the media interview the parents and the church leaders to see what motivated the horrendous crime? Of course, you would.
But the young guys that went into Columbine High School and ask students before shooting them, “are you a Christians?” and then shot them were never identified as to what church they belonged to or anything. It was dead deafening silence in the media. But you know what? Those troubled teenagers that also died were Jews. Now, this is something that should have been debated, as to why this hatred evolved in their minds.
Another case, the Baptist Church burnings this past year in Alabama (I believe that was the correct state)involved college students that were Jews that burned the churches. This was also kept out of the media.
It is only people like me and most importantly the Jews, themselves that can come forward and say we need open dialogue in this United States amongst all people because we cannot allow this hatred to go unchecked.
And likewise, the Jewish headquarters that was attacked in California is heart breaking where a Palestinian man opened fire on innocent people. If we are going to survive as a nation, we cannot keep these things in the closet. It scares me to see such hatred from any people toward another group. This includes whites killing blacks or blacks killing whites or any other ethnic group. I care about what type of Country that we leave to my children and grandchildren, and it is sure not looking good to me.

I would like to remain neutral on the occurrences of the conflicts of Jewish vs. Muslims conflicts and the reporting of FACTS and deal with WHY. You see hate has not ethnic boundaries does it? The war in the Middle East was not justified at all. And now after my research, the war in Iraq was not worth it. You see, we are the ones that lost a good friend of my son’s in Iraq in 2004. It is hard for me now to see that this war was a neocon plan developed in 1996, and to know that Kelley died for lies. You can never know that, until you are involved in something so personal, John.
Those of us touched by this war are not like the rest that are isolated from it in their comfortable homes, and not really knowing what sacrifice means.

As far as the site goes, I have been able to cross reference the material that I have referred to. I think that these men of German heritage have a right to defend their homeland. I am interested because my ancestory goes back to 1610 to Christian Storm of Pfifferstadt, Germany. If you knew you were of German heritage, you would probably be interested too. One of my ancestors developed the system that we use in higher learning today that separates the subjects that are taught. Such as the literatures, maths, philosophies. Another ancestor was the last holdout in the reformation. I owe it to my heritage to prove to myself and my children that we can be proud to be descendants of Germany. You see that was taken away from us because of World War II that could have been avoided, in my opinion.

The groups like KKK will take any issue and use it to gain members. They also used illegal immigration issue as a way to drive members.The KKK is a hate group bottom line.
The problem is when you try to talk about the issue like trade or immigration , all you hear about is hate groups not about the issue.

I’m sorry to hear of your loss. I had a family member serve and it does give you a different perspective. You do tend to question motives and facts more thoroughly than some others who aren’t directly affected.
I do agree with John Konop w/r/t jewwatch. The name just gives me the creeps. What did you lose because of WWII? My family is from Germany too. If I looked, I’m sure that I would find family members who served as Nazis to my eternal shame. The Germans were wrong in WWII and did terrible things and deserved to lose. You have to accept the good along with the bad.

The beautiful cities of Germany were bombed; many, many innocent citizens were slaughtered. I do not believe that war is the answer for anything. I was a gung ho warrior when I went to the Republican Convention, but now I know what Eisenhower meant in 1961 that we must be aware of the military complex that will consume the United States (not verbatum but you can look it up). When you are an American Citizen, you want to think that yes we are the greatest country in the world. And I know I am a good person, and my Marine son is a good person, and Kelley was a good person and a lot of people are great people. The problem is that we just cannot look in that mirror to see what the rest of the world sees when they look at us.
We are exactly like the Roman Empire, and we are into empire building. We send Christians into areas and then the people are exploited for raiding whatever minerals, ie oil or whatever we need to spread our tenacles into the the countries to create wealth. It is the same as the animal kingdom, and it is called survival of the fittest. Read Orwell’s “1984″ and it will all open up to you clearer. This book was written in 1948 and the author repeatedly talks about War equals Peace, as well as some other statements that have left my mind at this moment.
Listen to an old children’s song, we sang in Sunday School called “One Tin Soldier.” As a matter of fact, you can find it online through Google in Karoke lyrics. It still should be there. The song talks of the soldiers marching on to a town to slaughter all for the gold that lies beneath the hill, but all that was there was love and goodwill for mankind when there was one tin soldier left standing.
When I met a young lady from France in 2003 when I attended the President’s Dinner in DC (she was only at the same hotel), I looked at her in bewilderment as she said “your President is so wrong for going into Iraq.” I listened to this young lady that had blonde hair and blue eyes and spoke perfect English and thought wow she is nuts. But now, I understand that she is right.
I do not like the way the news mongers beat on the tables, like Sean Hannity and spill out this hatred as if only the left could be against the war. Sean has gone off the deep end, as have all of the war mongers. They are so worried about holding onto seats in Congress that they will sell out more soldiers’ lives for pure unadulterated greed!
Now, mind you, I am in no way shape or form a terrorist, but I suggest that you rent and watch “V is for Vendetta” and you will see a look into the future of where we are headed if this unchecked war machine does not get stopped. Dropping a nuclear bomb in the Middle East is not the answer and every Citizen in the United States should send mail to Senators and House Members and express that we do not want to go that route. Trust me, I spend so much time writing and emailing Congress. I called Elizabeth Dole’s office last week and the Speaker of the House, Boemer’s office. I am an activist for what I believe in.

We are in a totalitarian form of government where Citizens are controlled by mass media. Again read “1984″ you will read where Orwell talks about the organization he works for called Newspeak where words are changed, people work in cubicles and once or twice a day there is a hate time out, where people watch big video screens that show a leader of Britain showing terrorist activities and why these people must be killed. The people rant and rave and gnash their teeth. But the funny thing is about 85% of the population is busy playing the lottery, attending sporting events, and drinking at pubs and have no idea what is going on. For a book written in 1948, it is really spooky that Orwell could actually see into the future.
There is no way that the citizenry can come up with a Presidential candidate to run. Look at our media, Chris Matthews has high hopes that Joe Biden will run for President; the Republican Party is pushing for McCain and maybe a McCain/Lieberman ticket or George Allen or Newt Gingrich. You see the media will mold in the Citizenry who shall lead our dictatorship. There is not a dime’s worth of difference between either party today. They all look out for each other. The Republican Party is even pulling for Lieberman even though he gets a fat F from the NRA (quote from Buchanan); he agrees with abortion rights group and he gets high marks from teh ACLU. Now this is not the candidates that the supposed value conservatives ran on in 2004, is it? Think about the absurdity of it. That is why I called Senator Dole’s office, and her assistant said that they were not backing Lieberman, and he completely understood why I was so angry.

I have been trying to ignore all of this — I must admit I am on the fence. Are you more nuts than ignorant Linda, or more ignorant than nuts? Oh, the unanswerable questions! The problem is not that you speak from your heart, but that you think from your arse.
First, neither the Bible nor “1984” are historical texts or guidebooks to the future. Both are works of fiction. Do not quote them as otherwise.
Second, the government does not control the media. The media is stupid and the American public is more stupid. Again, “1984” is not an apt or viable reference point. The media companies are free enterprises that do what they need to do to make money. They are neither government run nor controlled.

Fourth: As a primordial American, are you and your kinder the ones guilty of genocide of the American Indians? You may be proud of your heritage, but no need to parade it in every post. No one else cares. Your ancestors, no matter how great they may have been, cannot keep you from being so totally wrong on so many points.
Fifth, you continue to blame the media — but does the media keep you from voting the way you want? If neither the Dems nor the GOP makes you happy, why do you not vote Libertarian? Sixth, the original point in this thread was the false pix being run, probably unwittingly, by US media. The fact that they were doctored was obvious at fist glance. That they ran them unchecked and uncritically does indeed show the bias of the organ. Maybe ineptitude, but mostly a bias. I must admit, though, that I fail to make the logical leaps you make or imply. How does a Jewish run media benefit from such pix? How does a government controlled media benefit from such pix?

The bottom line is that people have grown restless and distrusting of government and media outlets. Groups are fighting over photographs that may be doctored or may not be doctored. But the big picture is being buried, which is that innocents on both sides died horrific deaths did not have to happen. That is the Truth of this, that death and destruction does not have to happen, but Jesus said it would happen. Read Matthew 24. This war is nothing more than greed an manipulation and racist attitudes where the Israelis truly believe in their hearts that they are better than their genetically linked semite neighbors, which are Arabs. Since Google is a noun per the corporation or trademark rights, I will say use Google to look up the supremacy of Israel, and have your eyes opened.

As for monopolies, the media is not a monopoly. Most mid-size, and all large cities have several news outlets. There are hundreds of TV channels. Thousands of radio stations available. Millions of web sites can be found. By no definition can you call media monopolistic. The fact that the major US outlets are mostly inept and would be spoon fed information than look for and report truth is the real issue.
And I never said “stupid” . “Ignorant” and “nuts” were the words used . . .

Actually, John, that wasn’t what Adam Smith said. Sounds more like something a socialist would say in arguing the inevitable collpase of the capitalist system as corporations grow ever larger, absorbing their competition, to tell you the truth.
Smith was talking about monopoly powers granted by government under the mercantilist system, such as to the English East India Company. That was the whole motivation for The Wealth of Nations - to argue against mercantilist policies by showing how free markets produce better results. And he never said they destroy anything, but that they were inefficient.
He also said, BTW, that temporary monopoly powers can be benificial in that they can induce entrepreneurial risk-taking, but that’s more along the lines of modern intellectual property protection than anything else.
Anyway, I don’t think he ever actually conceived of monopolies growing out of anything but government franchise, John - that is, out of free market actions of private agents.

However, a market consolidation (even if there really was one in the news or media industry) is not the same as a monopoly. A monopoly is not even the same as market dominance. A monopoly is granted. Neither Bill Gates nor Rupert Murdock enjoys a monopoly.
Even if the news outlets “roll up” their stories from a small number of sources, that is not monopolistic — it is laziness. Regrettably, it is also catering to the market.
If you want better newspapers, we need a better readership.

Well, Bill, there is a poem called “The White Man’s Burden.” Please read it because this author said it all years ago, that right now I cannot remember who wrote it. But is has been deemed to politically incorrect for textbooks.
I suppose you have not kept up with the slaughter of white people in South Africa have you? When the United States drops from 90% white fifty years ago to 67% white today that is alarming. And it is alarming to the different cable outlets that have reported it this week. So there you have it the “white man’s burden” fulfilled in a little over 200 years. Immigration has done its job, and created a systematic genocide on the white race.
Public education has been dumbed down to the point to where children are no longer learning in school. Teachers have to accept the role of raising children because of sorry parents. I could go on, but it is of no use to talk to people that do not get it.
