Sam Olens: Part 2
by Bill Simon
Commissioner Sam Olens believes that I’ve gone over the top on bringing in the possibility that the approval of developments was the “cause” of the stormwater system deterioration.
In fact, his words were that I was being “sneaky and wrong” to try to bring-up approved developments as a cause of the problem.
I didn’t say that all the developments he voted for and his commission approved over the past 5 years were THE cause for the problem. But, surely one cannot claim that there was no “acceleration” of the problem with more developments and buildings being built all over Cobb County, thus destroying permeable land for stormwater.
However, the “sneaky” part of the issue was (from my standpoint) that though this has been an agenda item in several meetings since 2001, it is NOW (after Sam convinced those of us who would normally have been against the SPLOST to be for the SPLOST) that Sam Olens decides he’s got it clear to levy a fee on property owners. THAT, my friends, is the definition of SNEAKY.
No ifs, ands or buts.

If you think what he has done in Cobb is bad you should see what he is going to be responsible for doing in Cherokee County.
