Greenspan Gives the Shirt off His Back

(Sandy Springs, GA) - Dave Greenspan, state Senate candidate for District 56, recently pitched in with local business leaders to help the homeless. The event, sponsored by Brooklyn Café, Sandy Springs Rotary and Atlanta Brewing Company, attracted people from across North Fulton who want to help others.

Dave Greenspan said, "Rotary Sandy Springs and business leaders like Greg Pyne(Brooklyn Café) and Greg Kelly(Atlanta Brewing Company) are passing out clothes to those in need rather than passing the buck waiting for others."

In the past, these small clothing drives have not only kept the homeless warm, but have also provided them with work clothes that are instrumental in securing employment. "I handed a guy a pair of used black pants one time..." says Pyne "...and you'd think I had given him a bar of gold. The guy looked up at me and said 'black pants...they told me I needed black pants to work in the dining room, and I didn't have any. Now I got the pants and I got the job'." finished Pyne.

That's the kind of story that motivates community leaders like Dave Greenspan and Greg Kelly to participate in these events.

The theme of this drive was 'Pack a Bag' for the homeless. Donations were accepted in the form of one full set of men's cloths, including shoes and jackets packed in overnight bags donated by a local business.
