Isakson Names Honorary and Statewide Co-chairs: 48 State Reps and Senators Already on Board

Sunday, February 29, 2004

Atlanta, GA - U.S. Representative and Senate Candidate Johnny Isakson today welcomed the individuals who will chair his Statewide Steering Committee. Additionally, he has received the commitments of 48 members of the Georgia General Assembly who will serve as Honorary Co-Chairs in the counties they represent. Together, these groups will help guide Isakson's effort as he works to decisively win all 159 Georgia counties in the July 20th Republican primary and the November general election.

"One of our top goals is uniting Georgia Republicans so we enter the November elections in a position to strongly support our candidates from President Bush on down. These Republican leaders will form the nucleus of our effort to win all 159 Georgia counties by building a strong and united grassroots organization," said Isakson.

The announcement comes after Former Senator Mack Mattingly's endorsement this weekend at Isakson's Grassroots Meeting in Savannah. There, Mattingly told the large group of supporters, "I am proud to endorse Johnny Isakson, a friend of mine and a friend of Georgia, for the United States Senate. Johnny brings with him the honesty, integrity and Georgia values Georgians expect and need in the Senate."

"I am deeply honored to have earned the support of so many leading Georgians and will work hard to continue earning their respect as this campaign moves forward. We look forward to welcoming even more folks on board as Election Day moves closer," Isakson continued.
