Greenspan, Fleischer, et al. vs. Alec Poitevint, State GOP, et al.

DUNWOODY - Yesterday afternoon, a lawsuit was filed against the Georgia Republican Party on behalf of all of the GOP candidates who would have run under the previous legislative district maps. They won't now because they have been drawn-in with incumbents who have solid name ID.

David Greenspan, lead plaintiff in this unprecedented case, who was running to replace Senator Tom Price, had this to say, "We invested a lot of time and money in making preparations for our races. I bought a bunch of campaign stuff and now it's all trash? I was all ready to run and then these activist federal judges rule that the maps were unconstitutional! Those who are responsible for having those Barnes' maps thrown-out WILL be held responsible for their reckless actions!"

Carl Fleischer, who would have been one of Greenspan's opponents in the old district's primary, said "Like Dave, I spent money in preparation for this race. Look at my pushcard! It makes me look 20 years younger...I spent a lot of time on this and someone owes me either my district back or money to compensate me for my time!"

Craig Dowdy, who is running for a state senate seat in Cobb County will file an amicus brief on the case. He stated to us "I was well on my way to skunking any opponent, and then this newbie legislator Chip Rogers gets drawn with me into a new district. I have already worked hard enough on the campaign without being screwed by my own party!"

Alec Poitevint, Chairman of the State GOP, refused comment on the case, citing advice from his attorneys at Tanenblatt, Hyatt and Evans.

All he would be willing to go on the record with would be to tell us "Those folks suing me will definitely not be getting one of my special Christmas cards from me this year..."

Which reminded the PV that we didn't receive a card from Chairman Poitevint last year. Hmm...could it be that Alec doesn't like it when we poke fun at his alma mater?....hmmm...Say, Class, do you know what the difference is between an airline pilot and a UGA grad? The airline pilot ducks the fog...

*Special Note: The preceding story is 100% fake...unlike the boobs on the Political Vine's staff who are 100% real. And, of course, the UGA jokes...those are always real.
