By Bill Simon - Thinking Outside The Box (SmartAWB@aol.com)

I am going to be brief here, mainly due to time constraints on my free time, but mostly due to the reality that I don't know how many different ways I can say this: President Bush, your "Roadmap to Peace" is a stupid, ill-informed idea.

I am not going to be one of these people who "prays for peace" in the Middle East because that is a fruitless endeavor. It is fruitless because the only way peace will occur between Israel and all of her surrounding enemies is that either Israel gets wiped-out or her enemies get wiped-out. There can be no middle ground.

For rhe Arab world has been bred to hate the Israeli people much like the Germans did during Adolf Hitler's reign. It is in their programming from a very early age that Jews and Israel must all be destroyed. It is buried deep in their religious teachings that destruction of the Jewish people must be carried-out whenever and however it can be accomplished.

Every president since Jimmy Carter has stuck their two cents worth into the morass of the Middle East, only to have the aftermath be worse than when they first initiated action. President Clinton, in an act of desperation to leave some sort of positive legacy stuck his nose into this pit 33 months ago, only to have an eruption of more suicide bombings than ever before happen inside of Israel. (Good job, Bill. Take that Rhodes Scholarship and cram it where the sun never shines.)

To President Bush, I have to ask, what part of "You cannot negotiate with terrorists" do you not understand? There is no way the Arab world is going to cease and desist their hostile action against Israel. And, furthermore, it should not be demanded of Israel to merely give back all of the land (fairly won, by the way, as a result of offensive action by the Arabs against Israel) in exchange for the "promise" of a cessation of hostilities.

Haamas showed their true colors early-on and said that there was no way they would quit their attacks on Israel. Why? Because that is the only reason they exist! To attack and kill Israelis. What would they do in the world if they couldn't do that?!

Again, you cannot negotiate with terrorists. Exterminate them like we do roaches, yes. Negotiate? No.

Support Israel as we've done in the past. They are the only civilized and democratic nation in that region. Stop wasting time and stop demanding that Israel throw her guns down and hold out her arms to embrace her enemies. Get real.
