Republican Angelic Moore today officially announced her candidacy for the Fulton County Superior Court clerkship in the 2004 election. Moore, who has operated her own Atlanta consulting/research company, has participated in various Fulton County campaigns in recent years. "I am running on a reform platform," she says, "to remove the incompetent incumbent from office and to restore public trust and efficient administration of this important office."
Moore also announced that the State GOP Finance Chairman and Atlanta real estate attorney Art Morris of Morris and Schneider will chair her finance committee, and that John Garst will serve as campaign director.
"I have read too many articles pertaining to the incompetence of the office’s current management at the overwhelming cost to Fulton County taxpayers. Not only have I have talked with many who utilize and depend on the Fulton County clerk's office for their family dwellings, business livelihood, and freedom of life, I have also visited other clerk offices around the state with an eye toward how we can better manage and modernize ours," Moore said.
"I am gratified that many people have asked me to run. As your elected clerk, I intend to cooperate and coordinate with my friend Fulton County Commission Chairman Karen Handel and the other county commissioners in order to provide the best public service possible to Fulton Countians -- as well as to address the embarrassing mismanagement that currently typifies our clerk of court operations."
