First, I CANNOT believe that a person who is the LEADER of our party, or any party, would be STUPID enough to say the things he said, whether last week or 20 years ago.

So, the issue should not be "Does HE apologize?" or "Is he a Racist?" The issue for us, the Republican Party, is: "Is this man smart enough to be our leader in the Senate?"

No, he's not, IMHO.

So, today a caller to Limbaugh said, "how do we get rid of him quietly? He's an embarrassment and he's not a good leader." For me, the issue is, "How do we get rid of him LOUDLY, so that Blacks and Hispanics and any other minority would feel welcome under our tent? We should SHAME this man out of his leadership post, or we should VOTE this man out of his leadership post.

Quite frankly, I think we ought to shut him in a room with Condolezza Rice, Colin Powell, and J.C. Watts (while he's still technically in office) and let THEM decide what to do with him.

Now that I mention it, they might have something interesting to say about how they got to be where they are, despite the Dixiecrat's loss in 1948.
