Rumors have it that Bob "Yosemite Sam" Barr will be removing himself from the 6th District race in the very near future, leaving State Senator Robert Lamutt and State Representative Roger Hines as the only two announced candidates to replace current 6th District Congressman Johnny Isakson, who is seeking the U.S. Senate seat vacated by Senator Zell Miller.
Rumors further have it that shortly after the "final" (who's taking bets on that being definite?) day of the 2003 Session this Thursday, State Senate Majority Leader Tom Price will be formally making a statement announcing his intention to run for the 6th.
Current State Senator Chuck Clay will likely not enter the 6th, thus setting the stage for a very interesting 3-way race between Roger (the school teacher), Robert (the real estate investor), and Tom (the doctor).
That's all the news we have today. Our interns ALL got called for jury duty at the same time AND got selected to serve, so, we're going to be a little light on the newsy stuff for a few days.
