I was at the Cobb County GOP breakfast last Saturday morning and witnessed Dorsey Dodgen kick [Bill Simon]. [Simon] was sitting down at the time and exchanged cross words with Dodgen, but [he] had made no move to attack him. Dodgen just kicked [him] because [Simon] dared to speak-up for what's right.
It made me angry that anyone, especially at a meeting, would dare to suppose he could assault and batter another. This country is worse off than I knew.
Instead of jumping up and facing-off with Dodgen, [Simon] should have called the police and had Dodgen led away in handcuffs. There were plenty of witnesses, including a Cobb County Deputy Sheriff, who would have backed [Simon] up. It would have been be a huge embarrassment for Dorsey Dodgen and his sister, Carolyn Meadows, and the punishment would be next to nothing but to me that is a horrible infringement of [Simon's] rights.
If [Simon] decides to press charges, I'll back [him] up as a witness.
