PV Response: Short answer would be "back 'atcha" on the sick- to-our-stomach feelings your letter gives us. We are pleased to report that your wishes were not met and "thousands" of American soldiers were not killed in action in Iraq. In your despair, please consider inserting the barrel of a .38 caliber revolver loaded with hollow-points into your mouth and pull the trigger. Repeat as necessary.

For background info to the folks who don't know what the League of The South is all about, it's stated purpose is the secession of the Southern states from the Union. Its membership is much like a secret society and nobody talks outside of it for fear of retribution from the membership. The League is neither Republican (Thank goodness!) nor Democrat (darn it!).

Now, a lot of their stated "truths" of Southern life are reflective of the Ten Commandments (e.g., worship one God, anti-adultery, etc.). Nothing at all wrong with that.

But, this one tiny item on their DixieNet Website is a tad off-center: "Slavery is an institution ordained of God and regulated by His Word! It is not therefore "evil!"

With regard to the Political Vine being "anti-Southern," hardly. However, we are anti-idiots, whether they be Dems, Repubs, or anyone else who demonstrates themselves as such.
