Rumors have it that at a campaign rally held today in Newnan for
Lynn Westmoreland, DeKalb CEO
Vernon "Vermin" Jones (Democrat) publicly endorsed Westmoreland.
Vermin, sporting a snazzy Westmoreland T-Shirt with a picture of Lynn holding a beer in one hand and a wad of cash in the other with a "Vote For Lynn!" emblazoned across the bottom stated that:
"The 8th Congressional District cannot afford, because of diversity, to make a sacrifice for experience" said Jones, who is African- American (and, a
Democrat).
After Jones' endorsement, Westmoreland took the microphone, thanked Jones, and then turned to the gathered throng and proclaimed (we kid you not):
"I'm not a hillbilly. I'm a redneck!. Thunderous applause from the other rednecks broke-out as Westmoreland hugged Jones and thanked him profusely for his endorsement.
PV Sez: Wow! An endorsement from Vernon Jones. But, here's the real reasoning for Jones' endorsement: Vernon doesn't want Dylan Glenn elected because a black Republican from Georgia would STEAL all of his thunder.
Lynn must really be scraping the barrel trying to figure out how to get enough votes to win tomorrow. Wonder who he next gets for an endorsement of his hillbilly/redneck campaign?
Cynthia McKinney, perhaps?...
