Don’t Let Our Law-Makers Get Ahold Of This Info!

In light of these frightening statistics, we propose the following bread restrictions:

1: No sale of bread to minors.
2: No advertising of bread within 1000 feet of a school.
3: A 300 percent federal tax on all bread to pay for all the societal ills we might associate with bread.
4: No animal or human images, nor any primary colors (which may appeal to children) may be used to promote bread usage.
5: A $4.2 zillion fine on the three biggest bread manufacturers.
Please send this e-mail on to everyone you know who cares about this crucial issue.

New Immigration Study: Illegals DO Take Jobs From Americans

Bill Simon, Wednesday, March 29th, 2006

A very recent study by the Center for Immigration Studies has the following conclusions with regard to “native workers” (i.e., American-born) and illegal immigrants: * Looking first at all workers shows that between March 2000 and March 2005 only 9 percent of the net increase in jobs for adults (18 to 64) went to natives. Rumors have it that White House Chief of Staff Andy Card has told President Bush that he wishes to resign. Card will be replaced by budget director Josh Bolten on April 14. In a news story covering this, Bush is quoted as saying last week that “I’ve got a staff of people that have, first […]

HB 1325: The Biggest Screwing of Georgia Gas Users Since The 1997 “De-Regulation Bill”

Bill Simon, Sunday, March 26th, 2006

Senate Majority Leader Tommie Williams (R) is quoted in Saturday’s AJC as stating “[HB 1325 is] not a bad bill…It just hasn’t been explained.” Wrong, Senator Williams. Not only is HB 1325 a bad bill, but, with nearly the entire Republican caucus of the House voting in favor of it, it becomes a VERY bad […]

Okay…now the tit-for-tat letter battle this week between the Casey Cagle and Ralph Reed campaigns has gotten EXTREMELY interesting. To recap, first there was a letter authored by Casey Cagle printed last week in the Savannah Morning News. Then the Reed campaign fired-back with a letter of their own last Monday.

The Definition of Something’s Fishy: Rep. Burkhalter, Rep. Lewis, and AGL…

Bill Simon, Thursday, March 16th, 2006

Mark Burkhalter and Jeff Lewis are the two reps who carried this legislation and supported it through it’s passage in the House. I have several questions:

1) What exactly have they been promised from AGL’s lobbyist Craig Dowdy? I know Burkhalter is involved in real estate development and managment, and I looked-up Lewis’ background as well and, sure ‘nough, it turns out he’s also involved in the real estate game.

For Whom Does The Bell Toll? It Tolls for Grover Norquist

Bill Simon, Tuesday, March 14th, 2006

The organization Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) recently filed a complaint on Norquist’s use of the ATR bank account to launder money for anti-lottery fights in Alabama coordinated by [tag]Ralph Reed[/tag] and [tag]Jack Abranoff[/tag].

O’Reilly on March 8, 2006: “Reed wasn’t available to talk to us tonight”

Bill Simon, Thursday, March 9th, 2006

Rumors have it that on the March 8, 2006 airing of The O’Reilly Factor, Ralph Reed ducked O’Reilly’s invitation to appear on the program to answer to the allegations that he was hired by Jack Abramoff because Abramoff knew exactly what kind of campaigns Ralph liked to run; that is, the kind that falsely stir-up […]
