What is on your mind? Blog about anything (that’s not covered elsewhere)…
One afternoon, when I was about ten, I decided to walk over to the 'wrong side of the tracks.' At first I was a little scared. But then I noticed that the yards were nice, and so were the houses. In fact, most of the houses were better than those on our side of the tracks. A lot better.

What do you think of this group:
http://www.jewsonfirst.org
They have a report of a jewish family being run out of a town in Delaware. It’s very sad and sounds like something that would be happening in Iran not America. Is this the kind of thing our country is heading towards? I tend to think so unless we slap down the fundamentalists and soon!

Did anyone see how the radicals of the so-called religion of peace burned buildings and rioted when the Pope mentioned a medieval text that criticized Islam?
Animals…pure and simple.
They are just like the looters in LA who riot when they think they can get away with it. Some “offense” against their sensibilties sets them off.
This was just the Muslims’ excuse.
This is what happens when societal failures get pissed that they aren’t doing as good as the rest of the population. Radicals Islam sees the “good life” of the West and they see the total and complete failure of their society to progress past the year 700 AD.
Typical…

This may not be as pithy as the prior two comments, but the race in Georgia House 45 needs some coverage.
Here we have one Darryl Wilson, veteran, homeowner (in the district), family man, and businessman. Then we have one Matt Dollar, non-veteran, non-businessman, someone who, as has been chronicled before on this website, lives with his girlfriend in Buckhead. Yet, many so-called conservatives will end up voting for Dollar because he has an (R) after his name. Is it just me, or is that particularly pathetic?
District 45 deserves a real representative. Darryl Wilson can be just that. I beleive his website is
http://www.darrylowilson.com
I’ll correct that if mistaken.

Caroline,
That family in Delaware could very well be a set up. You have to consider the source for your research! You should not believe everything you read, as this is how the ACLU makes money!

anon,
It’s been verified elsewhere.
September 18th, 2006 at 8:50 pm
Caroline,
For whatever reason I was not able to open your link. Is the Jewish family being run out by good ‘ol boy redneck types or are they being harrassed by Muslim families?
I’m curious and 100% kudos on getting tougher with the radicals!
September 19th, 2006 at 4:57 am
David,
Is that ALL radicals, regardless of their purported religious faith?
September 19th, 2006 at 6:47 am
Charley,
Yes, it is all radicals who routinely slaughter innocent people and saw off heads of live captives, yes!
It is all radicals that riot and kill when their “prophet” is depicted in cartoons. It is all radicals that send suicide bombers in cars and on foot in the building filled with innocent people.
It is all radicals that fire up airports with automatic weapons fire and bring down airliners with altimeter bombs that bkow up at 30,000 feet.
It is all radicals that fly jetliners into buildings in New York City.
I don’t know what your point was but please don’t try and compare what these sub-human pieces of waste have done with the actions of evangelical “radical” Christians in this country who might want to return prayer to public school.

http://www.mpac.org/article.php?id=105
Interesting statistic: only 18% of Muslims live in the Arab part of the world!
September 19th, 2006 at 11:27 am
Um, radical christians have done bombings and murder, and I’m sure when they get some charismatic leader to tell them to do suicide bombings, they will probably start that too. Muslim radicalism didn’t start with suicide bombings.
Those people running off the jews are radical christians.
Remember the screeching about the Davinci code? No one seemed to realize that it was FICTION! Apparently it’s not that important to let our country slowly come under radical fundamentalism-which is where we are going to unless we do something.
As far as the current events, if all this stuff is so important why was W wanting to hand over our port security to friends of Osama?
September 19th, 2006 at 11:29 am
anon,
I hope that article is true and moderate muslims are starting to fight back against radical fundamentalism.
September 19th, 2006 at 4:12 pm
Caroline,
I pulled some stats from the internet and have listed the major recent events of Islamic radical history.
Why do I get the feeling you are trying to equate the few terrorist acts (abortion clinic bombings and shooting of an abortion doctor)of wacko Christians to what the Muslims have done? How can you think a comparision of the Islamo slaughter is remotely equivilent?
November 1979: Muslim extremists (Iranian variety) seized the U.S. embassy in Iran and held 52 American hostages for 444 days, following Democrat Jimmy Carter’s masterful foreign policy granting Islamic fanaticism its first real foothold in the Middle East.
— 1982: Muslim extremists (mostly Hezbollah) began a nearly decade-long habit of taking Americans and Europeans hostage in Lebanon, killing William Buckley and holding Terry Anderson for 6 1/2 years.
— April 1983: Muslim extremists (Islamic Jihad or possibly Hezbollah) bombed the U.S. Embassy in Beirut, killing 16 Americans.
— October 1983: Muslim extremists (Hezbollah) blew up the U.S. Marine barracks at the Beirut airport, killing 241 Marines.
— December 1983: Muslim extremists (al-Dawa) blew up the U.S. Embassy in Kuwait, killing five and injuring 80.
— September 1984: Muslim extremists (Hezbollah) exploded a truck bomb at the U.S. Embassy annex in Beirut, killing 24 people, including two U.S. servicemen.
— December 1984: Muslim extremists (probably Hezbollah) hijacked a Kuwait Airways airplane, landed in Iran and demanded the release of the 17 members of al-Dawa who had been arrested for the bombing of the U.S. Embassy in Kuwait, killing two Americans before the siege was over.
— June 14, 1985: Muslim extremists (Hezbollah) hijacked TWA Flight 847 out of Athens, diverting it to Beirut, taking the passengers hostage in return for the release of the Kuwait 17 as well as another 700 prisoners held by Israel. When their demands were not met, the Muslims shot U.S. Navy diver Robert Dean Stethem and dumped his body on the tarmac.
— October 1985: Muslim extremists (Palestine Liberation Front backed by Libya) seized an Italian cruise ship, the Achille Lauro, killing 69-year-old American Leon Klinghoffer by shooting him and then tossing his body overboard.
— December 1985: Muslim extremists (backed by Libya) bombed airports in Rome and Vienna, killing 20 people, including five Americans.
— April 1986: Muslim extremists (backed by Libya) bombed a discotheque frequented by U.S. servicemen in West Berlin, injuring hundreds and killing two, including a U.S. soldier.
— December 1988: Muslim extremists (backed by Libya) bombed Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, killing all 259 on board and 11 on the ground.
— February 1993: Muslim extremists (al-Gama’a al-Islamiyya, possibly with involvement of friendly rival al-Qaida) set off a bomb in the basement of the World Trade Center, killing six and wounding more than 1,000.
— Spring 1993: Muslim extremists (al-Gama’a al-Islamiyya, the Sudanese Islamic Front and at least one member of Hamas) plot to blow up the Lincoln and Holland tunnels, the U.N. complex, and the FBI’s lower Manhattan headquarters.
— November 1995: Muslim extremists (possibly Iranian “Party of God”) explode a car bomb at U.S. military headquarters in Saudi Arabia, killing five U.S. military servicemen.
— June 1996: Muslim extremists (13 Saudis and a Lebanese member of Hezbollah, probably with involvement of al-Qaida) explode a truck bomb outside the Khobar Towers military complex, killing 19 American servicemen and injuring hundreds.
— August 1998: Muslim extremists (al-Qaida) explode truck bombs at U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, killing 224 and injuring thousands.
— October 2000: Muslim extremists (al-Qaida) blow up the U.S. Navy destroyer USS Cole, killing 17 U.S. sailors.
— Sept. 11, 2001: Muslim extremists (al-Qaida) hijack commercial aircraft and fly planes into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and a field in Pennsylvania, killing nearly 3,000 Americans.
You are right about one point though: The modern Islamic butchery started with the murder of the Israeli athletes in 1972, not suicide bombings.
September 19th, 2006 at 7:14 pm
Well, you are missing my point. What I am saying is that we need to fight the fundamentalism in our country too. Obviously, you don’t see that as a problem. Do you want America to be a fundamentalist country too? I don’t.
September 20th, 2006 at 2:16 am
Caroline,
This may not be very candidate like to say but if we did I would be the first to start shooting back. That is the last thing we need to do but with all the bs pacifying we do to people around the world, all we are doing is opening our doors for it to happen.
September 20th, 2006 at 4:33 am
David,
Yes, I do equate al-Qaeda with the KKK, McVeigh, and Rudolf. Oh, and let’s not forget Shoko Asahara and his Aum Shinrikyo cult. I do not differentiate based on DEGREES of violence or on exactly WHO is perpetrating the violence (Caucasian blasphemers of Christianity or Arab blasphemers of Islam).
As far as I am concerned, they are all animals, and Aryan Nation’s terror camps in northern Idaho should be wiped off the map as surely as any al-Qaeda terror camp in Afghanistan. Too bad the Bush administration sees fit to do neither.

Aaah. an open thread. With the healthcare debate why don’t more conservatives adress the health freedom issue vs. “health socialism”? The alternative health/health freedom subject is HUGE on the net. And I’m sick and tired of the government outlawing this and that. They want to solve the healthcare crisis for real? Give Americans the same level of health freedom that they have in Mexico or China. This is a separate issue from the recreational drugs debate. Libertarians should be all over this. I can’t afford health insurance but I’m not worried. If I get cancer I’ve got enough money to travel to Mexico to get some laetrile.
September 29th, 2006 at 8:40 am
Define “health freedom” in Mexico or China, please.
As in, does this mean “freedom to spend government money” or “freedom to go to any doctor” or “freedom to screw yourself up by going to a charlatan doctor who is not regulated out of business?”
September 29th, 2006 at 9:00 am
the third one. Although I would have worded it a little differently.
September 29th, 2006 at 9:08 am
One man’s charlatan is another man’s bio-oxidative therapy health practitioner. Or something like that.
