I have no doubt that the Cynthia McKinney Cabal has no problem with this type of news coverage of the Israeli-Hezbollah conflict, but I certainly do, and I thought you might also be interested in this type of information:

  1. Bob Says:

    John, re:
“Are you not the same guy who was bragging about being a global economic expert on banking and you did know what the import/export bank did?”

I’ve never bragged about anything but my kids, John. You are as confused about me as you are about economics. You should stop trying to lecture on either.

Unless you have another enlightening Wikipedia quote to share, of course.

“If you would of done it first in the real world the concepts might be easier for you to understand.”

Let’s leave doing it out of it, OK? I can’t imagine what that has to do with anything, anyway.

Linda, re: “The downfall of France, England and the United States is colonization”, I’m sure the Celtic tribes and Native Americans would agree with you, but what does that have to do with anything?

  2. Jim Lenahan Says:

    John:

You asked: “Would you not call the energy bill a granted right from congress for oil companies to steal our money in trade for donations to congress?”

We were talking about the media, not oil companies. Your question is at best tangential to the thread.

Regardless, I will answer your exact question, as stated, with a “No”. Please clarify your and restate your question.

    JL

  3. John Konop Says:

    Jim,

The point is large multi-national corps(oil Companies)
bought off Congress to get our tax dollars to solve the energy problem ie Energy Bill. This is not the free-market.Read above what Adam Smith said.

Look at the with media. The fastest most profitable companies in the news media cater to illegal immigrants and latinos . Why do you think the AJC is pro open boarders. It would be bad for business for thier spanish media outlets.A reporter told me this from the AJC off the record. They refused to print or change his stories , on illegal immigration.

  4. Bob Says:

“Why do you think the AJC is pro open boarders. It would be bad for business for thier spanish media outlets.”

I don’t believe Cox Enterprises has any “spanish [sic] media outlets”, John.

Not that illegal immigration has anything more to do with whether Adam Smith would approve of the state of competition in media than does the energy bill, of course. But somehow I knew the conversation would swing around to illegal immigrants eventually.

Oh, BTW, subsidies to energy companies or whatever it is you don’t like about the energy bill have nothing to do with whether or not the industry is monopolistic or competitive.

If you are an expert in economics what is your background?

Are saying you can coach economics but you cannot make it work ?

Bob that works with basketball, baseball, football but business?

  8. LINDA Says:

Well, Bill, there is a poem called “The White Man’s Burden.” Please read it because this author said it all years ago, that right now I cannot remember who wrote it. But is has been deemed to politically incorrect for textbooks.

I suppose you have not kept up with the slaughter of white people in South Africa have you? When the United States drops from 90% white fifty years ago to 67% white today that is alarming. And it is alarming to the different cable outlets that have reported it this week. So there you have it the “white man’s burden” fulfilled in a little over 200 years. Immigration has done its job, and created a systematic genocide on the white race.

Public education has been dumbed down to the point to where children are no longer learning in school. Teachers have to accept the role of raising children because of sorry parents. I could go on, but it is of no use to talk to people that do not get it.

  10. caroline Says:

    Linda,
Thank you for your response. I will try to respond to you when I get more time.

  11. Bob Says:

“Could you help with my order from this COX company. Your spanish might be better then mine.”
    http://www.cox.com/oklahoma/digitalcable/hispanic.asp

Juan, Juan, Juan. Eso es divertido! ¿Qué usted no entendía? ¿”Nuevo”, “Paquete”, o “Latino”? Todo el resto estaba en inglés. El Nuevo significa “new”, el paquete significa “packet”, y el Latino significa … umm … “Latino”. No es tan confuso, realmente.

Are you confused again? Cox Communications is a cable operator. Most cable operators in the US offer Spanish language channels. Does that make all their local cable companies “Spanish media outlets”? No, John, it doesn’t. If they operated Spanish language TV or Radio stations, then THAT would qualify, but they don’t. Not that there would be anything wrong with them doing so, IMHO, but still, they don’t.

Oh, I get it. You don’t think Cox should offer Spanish language channels, do you? Why is that? And remember, you’re no xenophobe, right?

  12. Bob Says:

“If you are an expert in economics what is your background?”

Now, where did I say I was an expert? I don’t think I said that, did I? I think I said, in light of your misrepresentation of Adam Smith and your Wikipedia quote you claimed was his words, that you shouldn’t pretend to be one.

That said, several years of research and graduate study of the field, not to mention several years of corporate finance and banking work, which is not far removed from economics, might cause some to attribute some degree of expertise to me, but I’m sure I never did so myself.

“Are saying you can coach economics but you cannot make it work ?
Bob that works with basketball, baseball, football but business?”

¿qué? No entiendo la pregunta. Es absurdo.

  13. Bob Says:

Linda, just what is it you think Kipling meant by his poem?

    TIA.

  14. John Konop Says:

    Bob,

You are the guy who did not know what the import/export bank did. The “corporate finance” guy who did not how the money part works.

Remember how you ask proof how tax payers are helping to build overseas sweatshops?

I was shocked that a big time much more educated guy like you in the finance and banking world did not know what the import/export bank did.

    FROM BOB,

“several years of research and graduate study of the field, not to mention several years of corporate finance and banking work, which is not far”

I will repeat the post you avoided. In all fairness you never said you understood business development. Read slow and you might get how the cable connects with the concept of going after the latino market. For a fee I will do a full presentation.I might cost less than going back to school.I will give you hint multi = many.

You did not do your home work well with this like banking.Read for yourself.

And do you remember your orginal question ?

    FROM BOB,

“I don’t believe Cox Enterprises has any” “spanish [sic] media outlets”, John.

I am not sure if you had time to study a multi-level marketing plan to go after a customer base ? If not study what Cox is doing.

  15. Bob Says:

Oh, my goodness!!! Cox has three – count them, three! – tiny Spanish language news weeklies, they’ll translate your bill for you, and they used three Spanish words on a web page, rendering it unreadable to you. Well, you got me. I missed the little weekly newspapers. That Cox – they’re a regular Univision, aren’t they? No wonder they want illegal aliens to take over America.

“You are the guy who did not know what the import/export bank did. The “corporate finance” guy who did not how the money part works.
Remember how you ask proof how tax payers are helping to build overseas sweatshops?”

You live in a fantasy world, John. You read a few Lou Dobbs rants and apparently stumbled across a reference to Adam Smith, who you apparently think writes for Wikipedia, and thought that made you expert enough to lecture people you don’t even know about economics and to make an opportunistic run for Congress at a time when some people would vote for a grapefruit over an incumbent.

I’ve got news for you, John. Cox is not a Spanish media company, the media is not a monopoly, the oil industry is not a monopoly, and all the problems of the world can’t be traced back to “NAFTA/CAFTA” and illegal immigration. And whatever it is you think the Ex/Im bank is doing to steal your job and screw you over, I assure you, they are not.

Oh, and multi-level marketing is a way of structuring sales organizations like Amway or a good pyramid scheme, John, not a media company strategy. One would think a sales guy -oops- biz dev guy like you would know that.

  17. Bob Says:

No, Linda, I asked what YOU thought it meant. I’ve read it and I know there are various conflicting, but otherwise reasonable interpretations – NONE of which have anything to do with the shrinking proportion of people of the “white European race” in the US. Apparently, you thought it had some relevance to that racist/xenophobic fear of yours – so what is it?

PS: European is not a race, BTW.

  18. Jim Lenahan Says:

    John:

“The point is large multi-national corps (oil Companies) bought off Congress to get our tax dollars to solve the energy problem ie Energy Bill. This is not the free-market.”

This is also not a monopoly. Oil companies are doing what companies are supposed to do — maximize profit. The problem, though, is not with the oil companies, it is with congress. Stop re-electing such assholes. Throw the bums out! I’ll agree that the country is going to hell in a hand basket — but for very different reasons than you and Linda apparently fear. The problem is that we do not have enough intelligent people electing enough principled people. Our liberties are destroyed. We are one of the most socialist countries in the world, economically.

You also said: “Look at the with media. The fastest most profitable companies in the news media cater to illegal immigrants and latinos .”

Duh. It is a growing market with increasing discretionary spending — THAT is why they are a target demographic. The only boogey man here is business doing what business does.

You also wrote: “Why do you think the AJC is pro open boarders. It would be bad for business for thier spanish media outlets.A reporter told me this from the AJC off the record. They refused to print or change his stories , on illegal immigration.”

And here I thought the problem was that they were a bunch of liberal ninnies. I had no idea they were really part of a vast Spanish speaking conspiracy! Do you really believe half the stuff you write?

  19. LINDA Says:

White Europeans are anglo-saxons. The imprerialistic empire buiding of the U.S. has created a multi-cultural melting pot that is a disaster. If you cannot see the forest for the trees, then don’t ask me to loan you a flash light. You, sir, are wearing rose-colored glasses and obviously could not fight your way out of a wet paper bag.

  20. LINDA Says:

If you are not a descendant of white Europeans, then you cannot relate to me. When my family visits Disney World and we are told by people in gift shops, well you might like this item because many people from England are buying this and shipping it back, then I realize that this is not the same country that I was born into 51 years ago. Comprendo?

  21. John Konop Says:

    Bob,

As I said for my normal fee I will explain how you do a multi-level marketing plan. You really did not understand the plan from COX with all the links I gave you. So if you do not understand the money side of deals and business development, what did you do with all your education?

  22. John Konop Says:

    Linda,

The last post to Bob was over the line. You are a smart lady , you can make points without racist overtones.

When you do that it kills the point you are trying to make.I do not agree with all the time , but I do think you are a smart lady.I hope you take this in the spirit it is ment.

  23. Jim Lenahan Says:

    Linda:

I am of white European decent, and I cannot relate to you.

You are a racist and a bigot.

  24. LINDA Says:

Well, there are dumb people born into every ethnic group, so welcome to that group of people that walk around with their head up their butt! You may have to live in the church of political correctness, but I do not. I know what has happened to Macon, Georgia now that the white race keeps moving out. It looks like the ghetto in many areas, and it is sad to see it happen to what was once a beautiful town. And John, the truth needs to be said. Sorry fellows but you do not pucture my thick skin. I say what others dare not say. I don’t care because I am not running for office where I have to pretend that everything is peachy keeno!

  25. LINDA Says:

And by the way if anyone wants to purchase four properties from me, I would love to move. You can have them all for one million, that includes an office building!

  26. LINDA Says:

We have a black mayor in Macon that thinks its more important to double the size of his staff and travel to Ghana many times a year, and hear there and yonder. That is more important than giving public works workers raises, and getting them busy cleaning trash off the sides of the road and keeping the town looking so neat like it used to be. Come on down to Macon, Georgia and I’ll give you a historic tour!

  27. LINDA Says:

Look up Robby Noel, as he is on the radio on an online radio program. He is Britain and fought in the military during the apartheid going on in South Africa. Robby now resides in Scottsdale, AZ and he will tell you how it is. I had a nice long conversation with him a couple of weeks ago. Robby will tell you how political correctness destroyed South Africa, and he sees it destroying the United States, too!

  28. LINDA Says:

    He is from Britain!

  29. John Konop Says:

    Linda,

I am not running for office.I am talking from someone who does not see the issues via race.

And when you make the issues about race it is just wrong.I am not against illegal immigration due to race it is pure economics and respect for the law.

The same is for trade reform.

I am a Jewish guy married to a Christian woman. We raise our kids to respect all religions.

With that I do not have concerns about how 70% of Muslim supporting Bin Laden and Hezbollah.

I do know the American Jewish community is split on what to do about the war. That is why when you make a statement that puts all Jews, Blacks… in one group of thought I know you are wrong.

  30. Bob Says:

    “Comprendo?”

Linda, why are you asking ME if YOU understand?

BTW, I am also white and of European descent, my earliest ancestoral illegal immigrant to America arriving in 1631 at Nantasket aboard the “Lyon” along with the Rev. Roger Williams (though not a Puritan himself) and others, and I agree with Jim 100%. You are a bigot.

Now, if no one wants to actually discuss the CT Senate race, I’ll leave you and John to your idiotic ranting about black mayors and illegal immigrants.

  31. Bob Says:

Oops, last sentence belongs on another thread. My mistake. I’ll rephrase.

Now, if there’s going to be no further discussion of the irresponsible behavior of the press on behalf of Hezbollah propagandists, I’ll leave you and John to your idiotic ranting about black mayors and illegal immigrants.

  32. John Konop Says:

    Bob,

Are you going to pay me to teach how money is made ? I told you it would be less than your MBA.

  33. caroline Says:

    Okay Linda,
Exactly what event changed your view on the war? Obviously, it wasn’t the French woman.

I do agree that we have an out of control military situation. There is no money that is spent on the military is bad even if they are spending the money for hookers or giving the money to people with criminal records.

Sean Hannity is an idiot. If someone likes hysterical screeching, he’s their guy.

I disagree about patriotism. Some of the most patriotic people I have met are immigrants. They realize more than we do sometimes how valuable freedom is because they came from dictatorships etc.

I have read 1984 and, yes, a lot of the stuff that is going on right now is really creepy and much like that novel. War is now peace. Slavery is now freedom.

  34. LINDA Says:

    Caroline,

After all my soul searching, I realize that we make war because it is profitable to those that make their living in war profiteering. We have advanced for enough in society that we should be able to settle our differences with talk, instead of war. Like I said, when I find strategy papers such as the one written in 1996, it makes me take notice. There are war mongers pushing the buttons to get us into war with Iran. I have read most of the 16 page letter written to President Bush from the President of Iran, and I see raw emotion in it where a leader of a country wants to be taken seriously in negotiations in the Middle East.

I see similiarities in today’s Iraq War to the Viet Nam War. The Republicans are hell bent on staying the course, even though all is going terrible in Iraq according to soldiers that I have heard from. Politics gets in the way of war, and you cannot fight a war political. President Bush played pussie foot with the war leading up to the 2004 election, and we should have created an all out assault when the shiites were firing on our soldiers from Mosques. When I see so many Generals retiring that leads me to believe that things are not going right.

What are we going to do? Fight this war on terror for the next 100 years; I mean where does it end? If you keep on killing people that are terrorists, then more terrorist will be born to take you on again.

So I am wanting our soldiers home, I am weary of the death and the injuries of our brave soldiers. I feel that they are mere pawns on the chess board in Washington DC. When I hear someone call Sean Hannity and call him a good American, I want to scream. I guess I need to back away from all of this, and get on with my life. I cannot change anything nor can you. I want life to be normal in the United States, don’t you?

Hey guys, don’t think that I am a hateful ole lady. I realize there are wonderful people in all ethnicities, but there are the fringe groups that bother me.

  35. Bob Says:

“Are you going to pay me to teach how money is made ?”

John, I would sooner pay a rodeo clown to teach me how to barbeque escargot.

Look, John – when you can say just what anti-trust laws the media – or oil companies, for that matter – have violated (that was the beginning of your meandering tirades (this time), you know) we might have something to talk about. Short of that, you are a petty, annoying, ignoramous not worth any more of my time.

  36. LINDA Says:

    Bob,

You certainly call people pretty bad names to be so darn perfect. I suppose you have a split personality. LOL

  37. caroline Says:

    Linda,
You know what? A friend of mine has a brother who works at the pentagon who thinks we went to war because of money too. I know people your age who are Viet Nam vets who have been called up to fight in Iraq. Can you imagine that? People in their fifties and sixties who are being put in the desert to be shot at.

I hear the same thing you hear from the people who served. The only ones who have a positive story are the ones who served in Kurdistan and now those poor people are being attacked because the whole situation has devolved into a huge, huge mess.

I have read about the Project for a New American century document but have not read the actual document. I also read that they sent Bill Clinton a letter begging him to go into Iraq. I don’t understand their motivation. Sadaam was a bad guy but he was contained.

You want to know why this reminds you of Vietnam? It’s because it’s the same people who brought you that war. It’s going to continue for quite a while since W won’t admit that there’s anything wrong or that he made a mistake.

Terrorism is fought by being smart. Look at the British. They fought the IRA for years and finally won. They never declared war on them because you really can’t declare war on shady groups. They have to be infiltrated and destroyed by good police and intelligence work.

  38. LINDA Says:

You know Caroline, I am impressed with your intelligent writing!

  39. John Konop Says:

    Linda,

That was funny what you said to Bob !!!

I guess Bob did not learn to work and play will with others with that high dollar education.

  40. LINDA Says:

ROFL I am using some litte things someone told me on Peach Pundit. That means: rolling on floor laughing.

There are many people with a piece of paper that says an education was achieved, but it is up to the person to prove that it is worth the ink and the paper.

  41. John Konop Says:

    Linda,

Good point, I hope Bob gets what you are saying.

  42. Bill Simon Says:

    Linda,

When there was a white mayor in Macon (or, even in Atlanta), do you not think there was just as much corruption going on in the office controlled by a white man as there is (as you claim there is going on now) in the current Macon mayor’s office?

  43. Bevis Says:

Woe baby,,,, someone’s been smoking some crack!!!

  44. John Konop Says:

    Linda,

    Corruption is color blind.

  45. LINDA Says:

Of course, corruption is color blind. But the general population changes that elects the blacks into majority power. This electorate does not share the same culture that the whites did in the importance of keeping their homes maintained and the overall appearance of the community clean. Yes, this comes from poverty in the majority of the cases. But picking up trash around your home costs little but a litte effort to get off your butt and do it. But those that rely on big daddy government have not been conditioned to take care of themselves.

Again, you will not get sugar coating from me.

  46. LINDA Says:

Ok, now go into the US Census reports and look at the money allocated to jails and trial attorneys needed to represent indigent criminals. It will take some digging to look at statistics, but you will find that a county such as Sevierville in Tennessee will spend way less on jails and crime than a county such as Bibb County, Georgia or Fulton County, Georgia.

You will see that a County that is 97% white will spend much, much less on crime related expenses than a County that is 50% white. Why can’t you people admit the truth? And Bevis, just because you may be smoking crack does not mean that the rest of the world does!

  47. Bevis Says:

    smokin more crack.

  48. LINDA Says:

The emphasis taught to young people should be on getting into stable relationships before children come into the picture (marriage). Whites and blacks and other ethnicities have resorted to divorce much too often. It would be great if all of us would think of children before opting for a divorce. Myself included. A friend told me once “a bad relationship is better than no relationship at all.” It is up to both parents to make sure children grow up in a safe and loving environment, and the poor as well as the affluent can afford their children love because money does not buy love. If this were nurtured in a society, we would not have such alarming differences in ethnic groups where crime is concerned. Everyone has a dream.

  49. caroline Says:

    Linda,
I know everything stinks right now. We have stagnant job growth, high deficits, a war that has turned into a quagmire etc. but lashing out at minorities does not help. It’s easy to do but isn’t a solution. We all need to start working together towards a solution. We have much work to do in this country.

Growing up in the south, as a little girl, all I heard was “marriage and babies, marriage and babies.” Well, there’s nothing wrong with that but it’s not for everybody. I think that we shouldn’t push people to get married or have children. I have a brother in law who got married who had no business getting married. He destroyed the life of his now ex wife for a few years. He is now single and I told my mother in law to lay off the marriage stuff. Some people aren’t meant to get married and he is one of them.

  50. Bevis Says:

man lady, do you hear voices in your head or something?

Today's Deep Thought

I bet if you were a mummy wrapper in ancient Egypt, on thing you would constantly find yourself telling people would be, 'Be sure, before I start, you have all the jewelry and so forth on the body, because I am NOT unwrapping him later.'
