Newt Gingrich For President?
by Bill Simon
I was having a conversation the other day with a friend of mine. This guy was Mr. “Golly-Gee, Let’s Go With Newt For President!” I think he’s lost his frickin’ mind.
I think anyone who thinks Newt is electable as President has lost their frickin, feeble mind.
I think anyone who contributes money to Newt has REALLY lost their mind.
I think that even IF Newt’s wishful “$30 million” in contributions materializes, all that will prove is that those folks who gave that money have a lot more dollars than common sense (and, their names and addresses should be sent to every gypsy traveler in the country because, apparently, they LIKE being taken for a ride, and need more of them until their bank account is drained.)
Can you imagine if Newt goes up against Hillary Clinton? Whatever high ground he can claim on issues, he cannot beat her on the MOST basic morality issue that supposedly is the “glue” that holds this society together. The glue that the GOP has been screaming about for the past decade: Marriage. Fidelity. NOT committing adultery. (Duhhhh….Newt? Whut dew yew think about fy-dell-e-tee in marriage?)
And, the decision to vote for a candidate (any candidate) is ultimately decided upon whom the voter trusts the most. Newt has great ideas and he may have great vision, but he is not trustworthy.
And, that’s all I have to say on the matter.

How is Newt’s electability any different than Hillary Clinton as polarizing as she is with at least 50% of the electorate adamant they will vote against her. IF Hillary is electable, so is Newt.

A fair question, SouthFultonGuy.
Several things differ Hillary from Newt: One, the Dems have been out of presidential power for 8 years. They are HIGHLY motivated to vote and vote often. Not cheat, mind you, but get their vote out.
The evangelical Christian voters will not stomach voting for a serial adulterer, or even if Newt was a “one-timer” adulterer (as if anyone can ever claim one-time and stick to it).
SO, 12-20 million evangelical Christian voters will not show-up at the polls to vote for Newt. Hillary wins because more of her supporters went out and voted for her.

It’s all kind of moot now:
