Caroline, I would like for you to look at my webpage and add some input.

I am the Dem running for State House Rep 22.

    Thanks,

    Kevin,
Your platform is a good one. These are the issues that most people (or at least the ones I talk to) are interested in. Anyhow, it looks like you will be running against Sean Jerguson for the house. What do you think about that?

  5. Kevin Bailey Says:

    Caroline,
I spoke to the SOS office and its up in the air they have to count some overseas ballots. I spoke with Sean before the generaland today and I think he will be fair and not attack. Sean will run on the issues and not turn this into an ugly fight. Mary would put up a good fight. It was hard to contact Mary so I can not say to much regarding her style and issues. The race I am sure either way will be a horse race and a battle to the end. I know there is a need for mailers to get the word out maybe I can find some walkers to help spread the word. The sad thing is my mind is on Annies parents dog it was ran over and had to be put to sleep. The corgi in my picture was the dogs sister “same breeder”. I hope to make more sense next time.

    Caroline,
I was wondering what the word is on the street regarding the run off results. Have you spoken to your friends or heard thru the grapevine who the republicans really wanted to win.

    Kevin

  7. caroline Says:

    Kevin,
Most of the Republicans that I know are either demoralized, indifferent or “bushbots”. They really don’t seem to care who won. I would imagine that it’s six one way, half a dozen the other. Sorry to say but I think that Mary’s race was a factor in her losing the primary but apparently a lot of other people don’t like Sean for whatever reason.

The thing you probably have going for you is that, according to people like Charlie Cook and Larry Sabato, having a D by your name is a positive this year. Have you noticed how the Republicans are running away from W? No one apparently wants him to campaign for them and state parties are taking his picture completely off their website. Even Tom Price doesn’t have Republican on his signs-or at least the ones that I have seen.

  8. Kevin Bailey Says:

    Caroline,
I heard the same as you regarding Mary, and yes it is sad. I will start hitting the trail this weekend or do you think it is to soon with the run off fatigue. What do you know about the Back Alley Bash.

    Kevin

  9. Kevin Bailey Says:

    Bill,
I was wondering what is the Mary camp saying regarding Sean’s campaign worker.

    Caroline,
What do you think of the Mary and Sean issue with the filing of charges.

  11. caroline Says:

    Kevin,
I haven’t heard about that one. You’ll have to tell me what’s happening there.

    Caroline,
Mary and Sean with his campaign worker were in court Friday regarding a matter which happened during the run-off. There was guy passing out some information regarding Mary doing some work for Bill Campbell and she followed the guys and walked up to one on started calling some names according to the charges. Mary tried taking the information being passed out and tried to block him from approaching cars. The sheriff’s stopped by did not arrest her but Sean’s campaign worker pressed the 3 charges. They were in court all day Friday with no verdict or announcing of the issues going farther. There was one charge thrown out but the other two stuck. The paper on Saturday said mediation was tried but did not produce any results. Sean was no way involved in the altercation which took place only the campaign worker.

  13. D. White Says:

    Bill(not Simon),

It intriques me how you “weren’t involved” in either campaign yet you seem to know all of the “facts” surrounding both Chip and Craig’s campaigns.

I was Chip’s campaign manager, yes…the kid who was charged with theft, destruction, and more. You don’t know the half of the story, and you claim that you don’t know it, yet you come on this board and slander Sen. Rogers. Our signs were disappearing, and on several occassions cut to pieces. In the days leading up to the primary this was happening at an alarming rate. In frustration, Chip made a comment to me which I, because of MY immaturity repeated to those around me at the time. Within minutes….literally minutes both Chip and his wife Amy were at the campaign HQ rebutting what I said. Unfortunately all of our employees weren’t there, and again, because of MY immaturity I didn’t think to call those who had already left. With 40 employees going at the speed of light the day before the primary…I’ll be honest, I was overwhelmed, but it was my responsibility. This issue has long been resolved by the parties involved.

I must admit, I found your post quite confusing, as you first stated you weren’t involved in either campaign, yet you go on to say you know with “100% certainty” exactly what happened. Your disdain for Rogers confirms the fact that you’ve probably never discussed it with him, so an accurate appraisal of the situation on your end is highly unlikely.

You also claim that our campaign “broke every rule in the book” by putting signs on private property, and even in front of houses for sale. This is simply untrue. As is the Marr statement made earlier in your post, but it seems obvious to me, and I’m sure the other readers, that you have an axe to grind with the Metro area’s most popular citizen-legislator, regardless of whether or not you have to go back 4 years (and several untruths) to do it.

    Respectfully,

    DW

Today's Deep Thought

Too bad there's not such a thing as a GOLDEN skunk, because you'd probably be PROUD to be sprayed by one.
