If your friend is already dead, and being eaten by vultures, I think it's okay to feed some bits of your friend to one of the vultures, to teach him to do some tricks. But only if you're serious about adopting the vulture.

What’s the deal where blogs in the south seem to attract neo confederates and neo nazis? You had one here and now John Konop has one over there at control congress.

What do you think of Wyden’s healthcare plan? It appears to be an expansion of Romney’s MA plan to the national level with provisions for scope of coverage and eligibility.

Any thoughts on the Duke lacrosse rape case. The accuser had a baby this week. If I was one of the three being charged I’d be asking for DNA tests. It been 9 months, since the alleged rape.

Chris,
Whether it’s Wyden’s or Romney’s “new and improved” healthcare plan, I just have one question: HOW much will the people pay who go to emergency rooms pay in this “new system?”
After all, the BIGGEST financial load of the illegal immigrants is their reliability to only seek emergency care when they talk with a healthcare provider…and everyone else who DOES pay into the system shoulders that unpaid load.

Josh,
I’ll bet the mother-to-be is out for some paternity money as settlement.
December 15th, 2006 at 1:21 pm
Bill,
I would agree with you on that point. Like I said, if I was any of the three I’d be asking for a DNA sample from the new born. That would end the paternity angle….

Has there every been any studies done on how the “doc in a box” places have impacted emergency room visits? Also be interesting to see the demographics on them.
December 15th, 2006 at 2:19 pm
I went to one of those doc-in-a-box places for severe abdominal pain once. I don’t recall the treatment, other than being relieved it wasn’t something requiring emergency surgery. I had a doctor’s appointment two weeks later with my regular doctor, explained to him what happened and what they did, and no sooner did I get those words out of my mouth did he lunge down my throat for even going to one of those places in the first place. Then he went off on some rant about how everybody thinks those are the panacea of our healthcare system and cursed their very creation, in a very colorful manner. I guess maybe he felt threatened by them because people would go there before they can get an appointment with him.
Then again this was 20 years ago, and he’s retired now so his opinion really doesn’t matter anymore.

Well, I’ve found the doc in a box to be really helpful where children are concerned. If you have a really sick child and it’s the weekend, they are a godsend. Even my pediatricians have told me to go directly to one. It’s certainly better than the emergency room which I avoid if possible.

Re: neo-confederates: It may have something to do with geographical propensity of people who are connected to the past or something like that. (YOU’RE IN THE SOUTH DUMMIE)
re: neo-nazis: goose-steppers that will never make it in this country, weaklings who like to play the blame game, false flag plants like at the Tancredo ralleys, and activists who like to dress up for shock value.

Don’t know – she’s married Bill….
Back to the Duke lacrosse Rape case – looks like the rape charges have been dropped, but the DA is still an idiot and will not drop the rest.
