Who will be in the 2010 Republican Gubernatorial Run-Off?

As it stands now, there are 5 candidates for Governor in the 2010 GOP Primary. Pick the 2 YOU think will be in the run-off:
Are you lonely? Do you feel isolated? Have you been unemployed for a long time and have children? Have you recently returned from a war zone? Are you anti-abortion? Do you think Americans should have the right to keep a gun in their own home to protect them in case of an intruder? Are you anti-illegal immigration? Are you aware that our President is an African-American? Are you concerned about being interred in “citizen internment” camps? Have you seen the movie First Blood starring Sylvester Stallone and cheered him on to “kill” the members of law enforcement who are out to “get him?” How many times did you see the movie? Do you own a DVD of it? Have you noticed that there is a loss of jobs in the U.S.? Do you believe in the possibility that there is conspiracy to create a “One-World Government?” Have you noticed homes getting foreclosed on? Do you perceive that the world is closing in on you? Do you support the US Constitution? Are you concerned about your rights being trampled on? Have you ever yelled an expletive at the TV when no one else was around? Are you a paranoid schizophrenic? How would you know if you were not a paranoid schizophrenic? Can you prove you are not? Have you ever wondered if there is a God? Do you pray? Does God answer you back? Are you angry at the federal government? Do you believe they are out to get you? Are you suspicious of strangers? Do you lock your doors at night? If you are female, do you wear provocative clothing while shopping? Do you lead men on? Are you a tease?
Analysis of Your Answers To These Questions: If you answered “Yes” or “No” to any of these questions, you may have the potential to either be a member of a rightwing extremist group, or you may have the potential of being recruited by such a group.
Please refer to the attached document for guidelines on determining if your activities may or may not be perceived to be a threat to The Motherland…errr…Department of Homeland Security.
NOTE: Rumors have it that White House Chief of Staff Robb Emmanuel helped write the DHS propaganda document.
The new question may have been added as a means of increasing public safety, but Nassau County licensees have maintained a nearly spotless record in this area. A more likely explanation is that this could be the next practical step in denying exercise of the Second Amendment.
The recent Heller Supreme Court decision gave gun-owners a tripartite victory: firearm possession is an individual right, a complete ban on firearms is unconstitutional, and the right to self-defense with firearms is affirmed. The Supreme Court nevertheless left plenty of wiggle room for the firearm-prohibitionists, by allowing for “reasonable regulation.â€
Remember, a government big enough to give you all the security in the world is one big enough to take away your freedom and control that “free will” of yours…
Rumors have it that Baskin-Robbins Ice Cream has introduced a new flavor in honor of the 44th President of the United States: Barocky Road.
Barocky Road is a blend of half vanilla, half chocolate, and surrounded by nuts and flakes. The vanilla portion of the mix is not openly advertised and usually denied as an ingredient. The nuts and flakes are all very bitter and hard to swallow. The cost is $100 per scoop.
When purchased it will be presented to you in a large beautiful cone, but then the ice cream is taken away and given to the person in line behind you. Thus you are left with an empty wallet, no change, holding an empty cone, with no hope of getting any ice cream.
Based on the information printed in Monday’s AJC article about the true nature of SB 31, I am going to allow for the possibility that the following key leaders in the State Senate were lied to by Georgia Power interests to garner their support:
Lt. Governor Casey Cagle
Senator Don Balfour
Senator Chip Rogers (Majority Leader)
Senator Tommie Williams (Senate Pro Tem)
And, if they were lied to, then that would, perhaps, get them off the hook for pushing their fellow state senators to vote in favor of the bill based on the reasoning that it would, and I quote, “save $300,000,000 in interest costs.”
However, if they were lied to, they should start speaking-up now that they were lied to as to the true nature of what SB 31 allows Georgia Power to do.
Return on Equity means $1 Billion in advance before one kilowatt-hour of electricity flows from the new turbines at Plant Vogtle.
Return on Equity means that Georgia Power starts collecting profit on a plant that doesn’t yet exist.
Return on Equity means collecting money on a plant that may never exist (more on this point shortly).
The “saving” of the $300,000,000 in interest costs was THE BAIT that Georgia Power lobbyists and management shoved out there for everyone to munch on until they were caught last Friday by Rep Don Wix’s attempt to amend the bill in the House committee to exclude this $1 Billion in advance income (the amendment failed).
The SWITCH was when Georgia Power Comptroller Ann Daiss called Wix’s calculations “reasonable.â€
Ah-hah! It’s no longer an argument to “save $300,000,000 in interest costs.” It’s a plea to pay Georgia Power’s shareholders dividends on plant capacity that doesn’t yet exist!
And, won’t exist for at least 6 years…if it ever does exist. Which brings me to this point.
Forget SB 31 for a minute while I give you something to chew on: Have you noticed a lot of banks going out of business lately?
Did you know they were financing, not just individual homes, but entire housing developments? Have you seen any of those unfinished homes and developments cluttering the landscape of your neighborhoods? Homes and half-constructed developments that will not recover for, likely, quite some time? Even some office buildings that had construction initiated are sitting there half-finished, silt fences wasting away with no construction activity for the last year.
So, we have a few examples of construction projects that are begun, but not finished, right?
Where’s the guarantee in SB 31 that IF the plant either 1) isn’t built in the 6-years they are all talking about it being built by…and/or 2) is never completed…truly, it is a possibility for a construction project of ANY size to not be completed (again, look at all the unfinished homes and developments in your neighborhoods) that ratepayers cease paying for ROE of a plant that is never completed? Never put into operation? Never generates one iota of electrical power?
That guarantee doesn’t exist. Should be a huge red mark…but, no, every legislator (like every banker who is no longer in business) ASSUMES everything will be just as someone tells them it will be…2 years before the project even begins.
Where is the assurance to the ratepayer that they are not going to be required to keep paying for something that never materializes? What’s that? Oh, you say the “PSC will review those bills,” right?
Do you folks have ANY idea how incredibly easy it is to fabricate invoices? To get capital equipment delivered to a job site, and never actually put it to use? C’mon, people! Wake-up and lookout for your constituents!
Put some damn protections in this bill that do not allow Georgia Power to rape and pillage ratepayers for an infinite amount of time.

Re: A good investment
——————————————————————————–
Just wanted to let you know, Chief, that the investments we’ve made in getting in front of the state senate Republicans has “paid off” (inside joke there, Mikey) well. That senator named Don Balfour is the dumbest of the bunch, but boy-howdee, we were right: convince him and we’ll have the whole bunch of them eating out of our hands on your new financing scheme.
Tell the Wall Street bankers to fire-up those underwriters so we can securitize those payments to us beginning in 2011. Our team is well on our way to securing enough votes in the State House. Who would have thought that buying Mark Burkhalter $520 worth of hockey tickets (and a lap dance at the half) would be all we needed to get his support?
Well, gotta go now. Tweet you later!

Anyone mentioned specifically by name (or, even reference) who thinks they may be harmed by the content of these memos should pause and consider that you are the ones who are doing more of a screw-job (or, an “eff-you” job) on the people of Georgia than anything The Political Vine is doing to you.
Cheers!

Re: We Gonna Get You Good, You Suckas!
——————————————————————————–
Just wanted to send you a note to tell you how much we appreciate your votes of support and confidence in our abilities to propose and pass legislation designed to help out the people who TRULY matter to us: The corporations and the lobbyists.
Hot off our vote last week to screw Grandpa and Grandma out of more of their monthly fixed income to help pay the chieftains at Southern Company and (let’s not forget) Wall Street investment bankers some more money (i.e., the passage of SB 31 by a wide margin), we are looking at two new ways to eff you poor, stupid, naive saps. Specifically, the following bills:
SB 108: Losers Pay, Crooks (and Politicians) Get Off Scott-Free!
Now, do not go to the blog site that has an opposing viewpoint on each of these bills…those people are just a bunch of stupid lawyers.
WE are STATE SENATORS. We are the closest to God you’ll ever get.
Now, don’t worry. As we have done for many years, every time it comes to us running for reelection, we will visit your communities, patronize your BBQ establishments, and rattle our sabers at the Obama Administration, those “liberals” in Congress, gay marriages, abortion, and talk about how we would all be better off if people just took more “personal responsibility” for their actions [but, it’s okay if pharmaceutical companies in Georgia and other corporations do not take ANY responsibility for their actions], and accept your pittance of $25 and $50 contributions (while the people we REALLY work for, the businesses who seek to soak the ratepayers and the consumers of their products, shower us with $1000’s of dollars in contributions).
Cheers! Oh, and God Bless YOU and this great country (that allows us to eff you idiots year after year after year after year…)

Jason Winders (whom I’ve never read before now) wrote an excellent piece in yesterday’s Athens Banner-Herald regarding the abysmal lack of leadership demonstrated by Georgia state government over the past 25 some-odd years, but mostly focusing on the lack of leadership from our brilliant (sic) (but prayerful) Republican governor over Georgia’s water problem in the metro-Atlanta area.
Winders writes: “If we’re to have a prayer in getting out of this self-made mess, then we’ll need more than prayer. We’ll need a plan. And for that, we need sober, creative and stiff-backed leadership heading this state.”
SPECIAL NOTE: The following was written entirely by Bill Simon with NO coordination with, consultation with, or even “warning of” to the Georgia Secretary of State’s office.
The following is only how Bill Simon, an independent thinker, feels Jane Kidd, Chairman of the Democratic Party of Georgia, SHOULD be responded to in regards to her recent complaint leveled at the Georgia Secretary of State’s office.
My Dearest Jane,
In response to your latest missive that screams at Karen Handel and accuses her office of failing to anticipate long lines for advanced voting, I suggest you go outside to the nearest Dogwood tree, break a stick off and stick it where the sun never shines.
Perhaps had it not been for your party’s incessant lawsuits challenging adjudicated law on photo-ID, the SoS’s office might have been able to focus more of its attention on things like coordinating and managing resources at early-voting places.
Perhaps had it not been for the shambles in which the previous SoS (i.e., a Democrat) had left that office, LOTS of things could have been done better in anticipation of the first presidential election under a Republican-controlled SoS’s office.
Perhaps had it not been for the repeated (and flagrant) cheating efforts by ACORN, lots more time could have been spent in preparing the resources.
Sorry, Jane, I don’t think “opening-up” polling places this weekend, or maybe on a 24-hour basis so YOUR FOLKS can cheat more by stuffing the ballot is going to help the situation at all. It certainly won’t help protect MY vote which I cast via mail.
I think your “600 election monitors” (i.e., thugs) shipped-in to Georgia are just going to have to find another way to stuff the ballots in Georgia.
The Right to Vote is a challenging right. Perhaps had your party not spent the last year trying to make it more difficult for everyone to be ensured their vote wouldn’t get watered-down by ineligible voters, you could have spent more of that money teaching people how to fill-out an absentee ballot request.
Sincerely,
Bill Simon
Here’s a funny fact about FactCheck.org: Barack Obama was Chairman of The Board of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge from 1995 until 2000. The Challenge had to do with reforming Chicago public schools.
But, it was funded by the same source that funds FactCheck.org: The Annenberg Foundation. If you go to FactCheck.org and look at the logo, you will see “ANNENBERG POLITICAL FACTCHECK.”
You can read all of the documentation about this connection between Obama and the Annenberg organizations on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicago_Annenberg_Challenge
So…knowing this now…can you REALLY rely on FactCheck.org to tell you the “true” and “accurate” facts about anything regarding Obama and Joe Biden?
If you still do…I have a Chicago baseball team I’d like to sell you…just send me your credit card information and I’ll give you a certificate of ownership. I’ll also throw-in the Brooklyn Bridge in for free.
The one great thing about YouTube is that you don’t have to do a whole lot of prep work…all you need to do is point to a link. (But, pardon me while I do a little prep work.)
Once you get past the first 2 minutes of preliminaries, the meat of this video begins. The guy talking is a Democrat and he has filed a lawsuit demanding that Obama prove he is a US citizen.
Why is that important? Because it is a requirement of our “original Constitution” that in order for a person to become a US president, they must be a natural-born citizen.
Why do I place “original Constitution” in quotes? Because I am confident Obama intends to re-write the Constitution and ignore our Rule of Law. Can one man do that? Sure…if a non-natural born citizen can become president, in violation of the Constitution, what’s to stop them from following ANY laws?
Anyway…here’s the video you should watch…and forward to your lists:
I think when you go on trial they should have a parrot there that says guilty or not guilty for you, as a sort of courtesy.
