Was This On Mary’s “Sonny-Do” List?

Somebody produced a little spoof on Sonny’s latest ad…pretty funny and reminds me of Jimmy Kimmel’s stuff:

The Cherokee County Brokeback Mountain Party: Chapter Two

politicalvine, September 20th, 2006

Just wanted to give you folks a little update on what we covered earlier this year on the Brokeback Mountain Republican Party in Cherokee County: Rumors are that one of the key founders of the Brokeback Mountain Party in Georgia, Bart Brannon, has accepted a job with newbie Republican, Ben Elliott.

Elliott has a strong (and very recent) past of involving himself in Democrat races and giving beaucoup dollars to people like Mark Taylor.

Wonder how Bart reconciles this with his feelings toward Mary Wilhite?

Senator George Allen: I’m Thoroughly Unimpressed

Bill Simon, September 18th, 2006

I watched Senator George Allen on Meet the Depressed this morning with Tim Russert. I have to say, for my first impression of the man, I am thoroughly UNIMPRESSED with his grasp of issues.

Allen completely avoided having to answer the truth when Russert asked him twice to confirm that Allen stated he voted for the Iraq War because “to not do so would be disloyal to the President.”

Right…that’s a great reason for voting for such an act for our military to undertake…shows a complete ability to think independently (NOT!).

This guy is a Republican candidate for President in 2008? What a squishy guy.

Well, Blow Me Down! Bob Ney Pleads Guilty To Fraud & Quid Pro Quo-ing For Jack Abramoff

Bill Simon, September 15th, 2006

After MONTHS of denying, Congressman Bob Ney is going to plead guilty for taking money for legislative favors asked of him by Jack Abramoff.

Note To Ralphie Reed: Losing your bid for Lt. Governorship is the least of your worries. I cannot wait to hear all about your testimony in the lawsuit against you and Abramoff for racketeering and other crimes in your subversive attack on an Alabama Indian tribe’s business activities.

Dang! She’s A Hottie! I Wonder If She’s Interested In Older Men Though…?

Debra Lafave, 25, who became a tabloid sensation after her arrest in 2004, also acknowledges that her victim might “have a hard time trusting women one day. I’m sure he has to be living with the guilt of – quote, unquote – ratting me out,” according to transcripts of the interview with Matt Lauer released by NBC Tuesday. The interview was to air Wednesday on the “Today” show and “Dateline NBC.”

Lafave is serving three years of house arrest and seven years of probation after pleading guilty to having sex with the boy in a classroom and her home in June 2004. Her plea in November negated the need for a trial during which the victim would have been called to testify.

Lafave has apologized and said bipolar disorder contributed to her state of mind at the time.

The Real Price of All Of The New Housing Development

Bill Simon, September 13th, 2006

Though Bart Brannon probably won’t believe these statistics, Georgia is now somewhere between 4th and 1st in the country in home foreclosures.

Take a look at this article from The Atlanta Business Chronicle.

How do you think the rise in home foreclosures happens? Business layoffs of the residents? Or, have they been taking out highly risky “interest-only” loans, and spent the money they would have spent on principal on frivolous bling?

Let me know what you think.

Stock-up On Gasoline!!!

Bill Simon, September 12th, 2006

Wow! I paid $2.34 today for a gallon of regular unleaded at the QT on Barrett Pkwy near 575.

Last night when I was in DeKalb County, the price was around $2.38 per gallon.

Two weeks ago I paid $2.99 per gallon. Too bad there was no way to short retail gasoline…I would of made some good cash!

Forget “Where’s Waldo?” This Tribe Wants To Know “Where’s Ralphie?”

Bill Simon, August 29th, 2006

Anyone in the subpoena/lawsuit serving business? Perhaps the Alabama-Coushatta tribe will have to get Dog, The Bounty Hunter to serve Ralph Reed his notice of the lawsuit against him.

Very interesting story about good ‘ole Ralphie seemingly disappearing from the political landscape to avoid getting served a copy of the racketeering lawsuit where he is named one of the prime defendants.

Really now, if it was so “trite” a charge, Ralphie could defend himself and be done with it in no time, right?

I predict that Ralphie will be at the Ann Coulter event with the Christian Coalition on September 16. Anyone going who can carry a copy of the lawsuit to serve him personally? 🙂

Football In The South

Bill Simon, August 26th, 2006

With political season not yet heating-up enough, I thought y’all might like this post on the fall football season that I got in my email recently:

“Planning for the fall football season in the South is radically different than up North. For those who are planning a football trip South, here are some helpful hints.

Women’s Accessories:
NORTH: ChapStick in back pocket and a $20 bill in the front pocket.
SOUTH: Louis Vuitton duffel with two lipsticks, waterproof mascara, and a fifth of bourbon. Money not necessary – that’s what dates are for.

Stadium Size:
NORTH: College football stadiums hold 20,000 people.
SOUTH: High school football stadiums hold 20,000 people.

Fathers:
NORTH: Expect their daughters to understand Sylvia Plath.
SOUTH: Expect their daughters to understand pass interference.

Today's Deep Thought

I think when you go on trial they should have a parrot there that says guilty or not guilty for you, as a sort of courtesy.
