White House Chief of Staff Andy Card to Resign
by politicalvine
Rumors have it that White House Chief of Staff Andy Card has told President Bush that he wishes to resign. Card will be replaced by budget director Josh Bolten on April 14.
In a news story covering this, Bush is quoted as saying last week that “I’ve got a staff of people that have, first of all, placed their country above their self-interests…These are good, hard-working, decent people. And we’ve dealt with a lot. We’ve dealt with a lot. We’ve dealt with war. We’ve dealt with recession. We’ve dealt with scandal. We’ve dealt with Katrina.”
PV Sez: Yes, Mr. President, your White House has dealt with a lot. They have dealt miserably with all those things you name (i.e., Katrina, war in Iraq, scandal…and, what’s this about a recession?). What recession? We thought everything is going swimmingly with the economy.
What’s really too bad is that it isn’t Bush and Cheney who are the ones resigning. Those are the incompetent neocons who need to resign.

Yes, but then who do we get, current President Pro Tem of the Senate, Mr. Bridge-to-Nowhere Ted Stevens (R-AK), or current House Speaker, Mr. Never-Met-A-Corporate-Lobbyist-He-Didn’t-Like Dennis Hastert?
