Cherokee County Brouhaha – Chapter 2

Bill Simon, August 26th, 2006

A Cherokee County Magistrate Judge has decided there is enough evidence to charge Mary Wilhite with disorderly conduct in the matter between her and Lee Martin (Read the thread below first to get caught-up to now on this story).

For the record, I will point out that Mary Wilhite DID have a choice in this matter to avoid the disorderly conduct charge: Martin offered to drop the charge during a mediation session (as well as several out-of-court discussions between lawyers) IF Wilhite agreed to make a public apology on her actions and statements to Martin during the incident on August 7.

Cherokee County Brouhaha(ha-ha?)…which, apparently, IS no laughing matter for the parties involved.

Bill Simon, August 19th, 2006

In another thread, Kevin Bailey, a Democrat candidate for House District 22 in Cherokee County had a question about the charges filed against Republican candidate Mary Wilhite by Lee Martin, a campaign volunteer and campaign chairman for her Republican opponent, Sean Jerguson. So, I decided to put it here and start a whole thread on it.

The Cherokee Tribune has an update of the case where you can read it here and comment on it.

…(by the way…STICK to the subject at hand…any off-topic rants about NAFTA or the rage of a white woman in Macon will be summarily deleted) 🙂

Dubya Bush: Not Going To Endorse Fellow Republican in Connecticut

Bill Simon, August 17th, 2006

How interesting that President Bush/Karl Rove (i.e., the 2-headed snake) will not be endorsing the only Republican in the U.S. Senate race in Connecticut this year.

Why? Because, apparently, once Bush locks lips with someone (e.g., Democrat/Now-Independent Joe Lieberman), he doesn’t want to take a stand against that person, even if it means abandoning a member of his party.

What a swell guy/snake.

F%$@ The New York Times, Reuters, and the AP

I have no doubt that the Cynthia McKinney Cabal has no problem with this type of news coverage of the Israeli-Hezbollah conflict, but I certainly do, and I thought you might also be interested in this type of information:

Bill Stephens: Trouble On The Immediate Horizon?

politicalvine, July 26th, 2006

Rumors have it that a ghost from Bill Stephens' past has made a statement to a reporter regarding a licentious act between Bill and a female back in the early 1990s in then-Governor Zell Miller’s office.

More on this as it develops…

DeLay’s PAC Fined…

Bill Simon, July 21st, 2006

(07-21) 04:00 PDT Washington — The political action committee used as a vehicle to power in Congress by former Rep. Tom DeLay has agreed to pay $115,000 in fines for violations of federal campaign rules and will close its doors permanently, the Federal Election Commission disclosed Thursday.

According to an agreement with the commission, DeLay’s committee, Americans for a Republican Majority, agreed to the fines to settle accusations that it had failed to report more $322,000 in debts and other obligations to its vendors and had misrepresented more than $240,000 in other financial activity in 2001 and 2002…

Too bad DeLay wasn’t fined himself…

Political News and Personal Picks In Races

Bill Simon, July 16th, 2006

While another well-known Georgia political blog has a blog proprietor publicly WHINING about “the negative advertising” in the Republican Lt. Governor’s race, AND said proprietor has stated in print that he intends to “boycott” (boo-hoo-hoo with bottom-lip upturned) the Lt. Governor’s primary on Tuesday lest he have to actually use the left-side of his brain to make a decision (jocularity, Erick, jocularity), I have no qualms about either voting on Tuesday OR making my picks on the GOP side publicly known now:

Auto-Call Mania for Ralph Reed

Bill Simon, July 15th, 2006

This morning, I received a call from Eric Zeiere (sp?) for Ralphie.

Yesterday, I received one from John Smoltz.

Tomorrow, I expect to receive one from Jerry Falwell.

On Monday, I expect to receive one from Newt Gingrich telling me what a great “family values leader” Ralph Reed is.

Surely there’s a sit-com waiting to be written about elections like these. Maybe call it “The Consultant.”

Mark Taylor: The BIGGEST Left-Winger In The Southeast

Bill Simon, July 13th, 2006

In today’s AJC, Mark Taylor got the endorsement from both Jay Bookman and Cynthia Tucker, the paper’s two most left-wing editorial board members ON THE PLANET.

That, combined with Taylor getting the endorsement from Cynthia McKinney last fall, nails Mark Taylor as being the BIGGEST (not in “Big-Guy” vernacular as being a physical size thing) Left-Winger in the Southeast.

If Mark Taylor wins the primary, Sonny Perdue is guaranteed to be re-elected with a sizable margin.

If Cathy Cox wins, Sonny Perdue will be in for a bigger fight than he had with Roy Barnes.

It will be a very interesting election night for the Dem side.

Tom Price Campaign Goes Ballistic!

Bill Simon, July 5th, 2006

Rumors have it that upon learning of the new ad campaign from John Konop slamming his record in Congress, Tom Price’s people went ballistic.

Here’s the ad for those who wish to view what Price’s people don’t want anyone to know about:

Today's Deep Thought

I think when you go on trial they should have a parrot there that says guilty or not guilty for you, as a sort of courtesy.
