Whatever’s on your mind…
Rumors have it that the Tom Price Campaign sent an urgent e-mail out last Friday offering ANYONE a free ticket to the Cherokee County GOP picnic held on Saturday if they would agree to put on a Price T-shirt and wear it throughout the event.
Reports are that there were about 15-20 folks wearing Price T-shirts in the crowd of about 150 attendees.
Perhaps Price will tap into the illegal immigrant work pool for his 4th of July activities…
The Senate Committee on Indian Affairs has completed its investigation on the matter of Abramoff, Scanlon, and Ralph Reed and issued a 373-page report on the matter.
The main question that must be asked of Ralph Reed is simply this: “Ralph: If you were under the assumption that all the money coming from the Indian tribes was “clean” (i.e., not from gambling revenue), then why did you work so hard with Abramoff to ensure that NO MONEY was ever paid directly to Century Strategies, and that it all had to be routed through fake Christian organizations under the control of Michael Scanlon?”
Just a simple question, really. Because, if you KNOW the money is clean, why have it laundered before it gets to you?
The answer, of course, is that Ralph KNEW the money wasn’t “clean” and that is why it had to be laundered.
Ralph Reed…the greatest liar of our modern-day era.

Mark Taylor has filed a lawsuit against Cathy Cox, alleging that she is in violation of Georgia’s Open Records Act law.
Sure as I’m sittin’ here, I witnessed Congressman Lynn Westmoreland (R-Dumbass) appear on last night’s The Colbert Report and demonstrate exactly why Georgia is at the bottom of the education scale in America, if not the whole world.
Colbert had his “Know your congressional district” series on with Westmoreland as his subject.
Towards the end, Colbert asked Westmoreland if it was true he co-sponsored a bill that would require the Ten Commandments be posted in the House of Representatives and in the Senate, to which Westmoreland said “Yes.”
Colbert then asked him “Well, is there any other building other than a public building that should post the Ten Commandments?”
To which Westmoreland said “No.”
THEN…Colbert asked Westmoreland “What are the Ten Commandments? Name them.”
Westmoreland’s face went blank for a moment, and then he started stumbling-out an answer in which he named LESS THAN FIVE COMMANDMENTS!!!!
Really now, for such a simple set of instructions that is (according to people like Westmoreland) the bedrock of our country, one would think that Westmoreland would have them as committed to memory as he thinks everyone else in America should have them committed to memory.
Perhaps someone needs to develop the Ten Commandments Toilet Roll…because, you can get some good reading done while you’re visiting the porcelain god.
If you want to catch this on the repeat, tune into Comedy Central (The Comedy Channel) at 10:30 AM on Thursday (June 15) and then at 8:30 PM Thursday night.
Damn…that’s funnier than Larry, The Cable Guy. Lynn has a GREAT future as a comedian.

Whether you are a diehard supporter or a fence-sitter on the Casey Cagle vs. Ralph Reed race, you should ask yourself the question of WHY are all these folks who worked for Reed in the past now working for or supporting the candidate opposing Ralph?
Specifically:
Joel McElhannon – General Consultant
Jay Williams – Direct Mail Consultant
Elizabeth Dewberry – Campaign Manager
Clint Austin (a person who was loyal to the hilt with Ralph until recently)…no position with the campaign, but, from what I understand, a $10,000 contributor to Cagle
Emily Echols Morton – Used to work for Reed at the party when he was chairman…now listed as a Host for a fundraiser for Casey Cagle this Saturday
These folks are known to be SOLID conservatives in the GOP party. They worked directly for and learned from Ralph Reed….and, yet, the thing they fear most right now is seeing Ralph Reed get elected.
Could it possibly be that they know him for the sleazy, crooked businessman that he is (because they were forced to witness it while working for him) and do not want that type of person elected?

In the interest of full disclosure to those of you who think everything should be known about the background of a blogger, I am, admittedly, a biased person. I have had a strong bias against Tom Price ever since May 2005 when I read that he was one of 20 weenies who voted against the House to return the Rules back to a condition of Rules that maintained order and decorum.
Also, in August of 2005, I had the occasion to watch C-SPAN and listened as Tom Price defended an exception written into a jobs program bill that allowed religious organizations who accepted federal funds to discriminate on who they hired on the basis of the religion of that individual.
The part of the federal law that Price used to bolster his position was Title X in which he said: “There is nothing written in Title X that prohibits religious discrimination by an entity that receives federal funds.†After witnessing this speech by Price, I realized he was a dumbass, and probably in favor of turning the entire federal government into one large religious organization because, after all, Title X doesn’t prohibit job discrimination based on religion.
Feeling pissed-off for nearly 4 months at this display by my congressman, Tom Price, I was overjoyed to learn that someone was going to run against Price.
I approached the campaign of John Konop, talked with John, and asked him if there was anything I could do for his campaign. When his requests got more frequent and I realized the campaign need a little more hands-on guidance, I stated to Konop that what he’s asking me for is what most people charge for as a consultant to the campaign. He offered to pay me $1000 per month for guidance, database processing on his voter file, and the freedom for him to call me as early in the morning as he wanted, and as late in the evening as he wanted to rap about the campaign.
Anyone who has any familiarity with me and the PV knows that I offer my opinion to anyone about anything/anyone without having to be “told” what to say or how to say it. In fact, that is pretty much why lots of folks don’t like me…because I do not beat around the bush, and I don’t lie like a lot of folks in politics do, Republican Party members or anyone else.

Rumors have it that earlier today, the U.S. Senate voted 49 to 48 against The Federal Marriage Amendment (aka “President Bush and the GOP’s Latest Desperate Attempt At Trying To Distract America And Their Base From The non-Conservative Job They’ve Done As Republicans”)
Check your local listings for a re-hash of the incessant “You’re a Liberal!” vocal expulsions soon to be expressed by Bush, Hannity, Cheney, and anyone else who does not have a freaking clue in their minds that the MAJORITY of America can see right through their bull-manure on this attempt to re-direct our attention away from the crappy job they have done as leaders of this country.
I have voted Republican ever since Ronald Reagan ran for President, and as a Republican, I am sickened by the attempts by the Bush Administration and Republican-run Congress to continue to dodge their responsibilities to the American people AND the Republican principles this party was founded upon.
I cannot think of any Member of Congress, House or Senate, who could be looked upon as a true follower of President Reagan. These neo-Socialists masking themselves as “Republicans” need to be ALL tossed-out this year. Tom DeLay offically left yesterday…all of these idiots should be out by this November at the very latest.
You might be amazed at the types of letters I receive from people who hold “sitting congressmen/people” in so much high regard that to speak ill of them is to violate some kind of code of honor in their minds.
Well, I have a code of honor to uphold myself. It is the code that says when a public official (whether that public official is a Democrat or a Republican or whatever) actively engages in a deception of a highly aggravated nature, that it is MY responsibility to combine my personal skills of political analysis and writing to communicate to anyone what I have observed.
Since my initial release calling Price a “LIAR (cubed)”, two things have surfaced that are pertinent to the story: 1) An e-mail statement from Tom Price to Bill Kinney at the Marietta Daily Journal describing HIS version of the communications with the League of Women Voters, and 2) An electronic recording of the first part of the event forum at the League of Women Voters.

I realize there may be a missing element in my coverage of Tom Price that demands an explanation as to WHY am I so ticked-off at Congressman Tom Price???
The day upon which I decided Tom Price had no character worth anything to me was the day I read this article in the AJC.
The article describes how Price was one of ONLY 20 Members who voted against returning the ethics rules to the condition they were before Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert (and his fellow neo-Socialists*) changed the rules a few months prior to save the corrupt individual formerly known as Majority Leader Tom DeLay from having to resign in the face of an indictment from a Texas grand jury.

If it wasn’t for this ongoing (and, multi-dimensional in the degree of lying going on) story with 6th District Congressman Tom Price deliberately blowing-off and lying about what his campaign said to whom and when, I would be devoting scads of post space to rip Randy Evans’ latest devotional to his boss, Dennis Hastert, and Hastert’s feeble attempts to declare the legislative offices of House Members to be off-limits from FBI warrants.
I do not have enough time to, for instance, cover the absolute absurdity of Hastert’s Minister of Propaganda (i.e., Randy Evans) defense of the Hastert/Pelosi letter demanding immunity from (of all things) an FBI warrant to uncover how much more bribe money is stuffed inside someone’s desk drawer (OR, perhaps in the case of Hastert, how much animal porn is stored on his legislative office computers).
I will, however, just present two of the examples from Evans’ column that attempts to defend Denny and The Jets:
Why should anyone care about a Saturday night FBI search of a Congressional office on Capitol Hill of a Congressman that most people think is probably guilty of accepting bribes? Really, you shouldn’t care unless…

Yes, Virginia, there will be a 3rd Part to this Saga, and in some weird fashion, I am Santa Claus.
I do not have a long white beard. Nor do I wear a big red suit (I’m allergic to most things red…whether they be red-necks OR just about anyone who graduated from UGA and “decorates” their home with everything in UGA red). I don’t yet have the big Santa Claus belly, but, it looks like this year is shaping-up to be the year for maximum politics and work stress, so, I might eat myself up to the Santa Claus level when this year is over.
The “gifts” I can bring people are tidbits of information on people in politics. Tidbits they will likely NOT get anywhere else. Tidbits that are sometimes buried in incredibly long, violently written rants, but…for those of you who are mature enough, and clued-in enough to the political arena, the information you gather is, at minimum, entertaining, and, at maximum, info that will inform you on something that you wouldn’t know otherwise.
I think when you go on trial they should have a parrot there that says guilty or not guilty for you, as a sort of courtesy.
